  1. There’s gonna come a time where they’ll be more ebikes the normal Bikes this year at the Cape August they were 16% with the growth rate, the year before it was 12%. so this growth rate within five years you looking at 35 to 40% ebikes! I think Ebike should be given preference as a lot of people that will never be able to ride. and enjoy the races. They not looking for party them finishes I just enjoying the rod and that’s what it’s about it’s about riding.
  2. Had bad service from Garmin, big attitude to deal with.. never the less product is good. I think Apple offering, the next new 2023 Apple watch will make most sports watches close to redundant.
  3. I would go for the Speclized Epci Pro 2021 if you can get out hands on one as it's as light as the Sworks 2020 which was very light. Or a built bike like the I noted on the hub -Rocky instinct 970 MSL that is full Xt 1-12, fox shocks all for R45 K that's can be set up to ride XC or Trail with RIDE-9 and is in great Condtion. These are things you should look for. If I did not have my bike I would buy that in a flash and save a cool 40 k!
  4. ENDURO SEAL - stuff works well and it’s great company
  5. 1) costs seem high due to poor governance in SA rand like Zim toilet paper. 2) Ride a 2019-2020 Epic S-works and any non believers will be eating there words. The Brian is dream technology. 3) How different is a Sworks to other top end bikes only you can understand that if you ride both - the sworks is such a leap and jump forward it’s kind of like a unfair advantage. 4)If you ever seen the Sworks build stripped done it’s immediately evident to the fine detail that goes into making this a super fast race machine. Small things eg - Like threaded brass insets and titanium screws and bolts Ect.
  6. Face book groups - so many with headings of the same bike you have , or type of riding you do and so on. So much more info if you need. Bike hub is great but I will not pot for a hub.
  7. Is it possible to get some rates with out having to give your blood group and gene sequencing code? Send email.
  8. Don’t hold your breath for much support from the PPA, what I hear they are rather a lame org only bent on take money from racers on race days, they do little with the money..... ...
  9. Good to see PPA doing some good with all the fees they collect at each race. Australia, many parts of the USA have very limited lock down and are experiencing limited viral spread. Running and biking are healthy. Dr Phill said more will die of health issues than ever before due to the lockdown and the anxiety and poor healthy ofer eating and thoes needing gym to keep well and literally alive.
  10. Hopefully Metro Police monitor the roads, last year the taxis nearly cut me of and I saw a small group of riders skid to a halt closing missing two taxis driving on the curb and then we witnessed some idiot taxi went on to the main road and the crossed over. Very dangerous to ride these days.
  11. Event Name: Cradle Mountian Trophy When: 6 April 2019 - 7 April 2019 Where: Maropeng, Gauteng Category: MTB Welcome to the 10th edition of the most popular 2-day mountain biking stage race - The Cool Ideas Cradle Mountain Trophy. Can you believe it? The 10th edition of this awesome race. This year we’ve added some Trail Running adventures to the menu, so a great sporting weekend all round. This two-day mountain biking event always promises to be an exhilarating experience and will take place over the weekend of 6th and 7th of April 2019. This is without a doubt the most popular, engaging and spectacular 2-day event in and around Gauteng. The beauty of this event is that it takes place at Maropeng in the heart of The Cradle of Humankind, so there is no long drive to the start. And the weekend caters for riders of all abilities – offering distances from 75km, 45km to 25km. If you have done this mountain biking event before, you will know that The Cool Ideas Cradle Mountain Trophy promises a fantastic offering of single track, plus some challenging off-road and, of course, some good technical aspects. But do remember that we call this the “Mountain Trophy” for good reason. It is not all flat. We will be making good use of tracks and trails which have previously been used for private events. If you are training for Joburg2C, The Great Kei Trek, or Sani, then this must be an event that’s on your training schedule. Go to Event Page

  13. I had a chance to ride the new Levo this weekend , whhhhho whoooooo this is the best fun I had on a mountain in 25 years! The fastest growing segment of biking in the world. For good reason. There is always resistance to the unknown till you try it. We us MTB BIKERS did not want suspension on bike years ago ,the claim it was to much like a motocross.. then the massive pavlova with pages and pages of haters of the 29ers. Then it was the pages of comments on the forum moving from 3x8 to 2x10 and then pages of comments of when it went to a 1x10 ahhh what a frenzy we reached, the same thing with Ebikes. Yes they great and not for every one, I not selling my bike just yet but I will tell you a whole lot of people that could not enjoy MTB will no discover this great adverure sport with a passion!
  14. Ok ok but please give me some info on light 2,2 tires . I can’t find weights and not have loot for carbon rims.
  15. Ebike are going to be an intragel part of mountain biking - they will be the resistance like there was from the 26 inch tires to the 29 inch tire they will be the resistance like they was from a bike with out suspension to bike with shocks there will be resistance from a bike with a 1.5 inch tires to a 3 inch tires But EBIKES will be on all trials as they are the biggest thing in the USA and now in Europe . South Africans are well known slow uptakers.
