  6. Guys Is there anyone in pmb or close that has 32 or 35 tyres on road bike rims? I would like to check if I have space between my brake calipers to fit wider tyres before I buy '91 Bridgestone Radac Cheers Rog

Hi guys So, seeing lockup is extended, I want to do a fun build on an old steel frame. I had thought of singlespeed, but reckon 3 speed will be more practical. So, 42 or 52 chainring? And then I have a couple of old cassettes which I can strip for sprockets and spacers, so which 3 will be useful? Could I realistically set the limit screws on the derailleur for 3 sprockets? Would like to use a downtube shifter.. Any input appreciated

  12. Thanks for the tips Loose cog and bikebloke
  13. Thanks for the response BB.. So far, indexed steering and front hub. Back hub seems fine. Chains and drivetrain look good, obviously need cleaning, and setting. Seatposts came out easily with Tool in a Can. Most chrome and aluminium bits seem like they will clean up well. Front non drive side pedal broken but usable. Some exposed steel, with a bit of surface rust, but not structural far as I can tell. I'm all for not re-spraying and leaving like is, how best to protect exposed metal? worth trying to match colour and touch-up? Anyway, not bad for a twenty year garage queen...
  14. Hi guys So I acquired this tandem today, and would like to restore it. I haven't checked everything properly, but would appreciate any advice, especially on how to handle the frame. There is unfortunately damage to some of the decals and paintwork.. Many thanks in advance Rog
