  1. These guys actually ride the bikes before they send them home.. They do not just test on the stand. As far as I know there has been a few hiccups with the first batch.. I have my say.
  2. Not sure wich pin.. I would check both. I was at the shop and saw that bike being tested after it was built. Everything worked 100% at that stage. These things do happen. Just be glad he was not moving at high speed..
  3. It was not setup wrong.. There is a pin that holds the cage together. That popped out. The front part of the cage was what struck the stay. the back part of the cage was still attatched to the RD.
  4. nope saw it myself at the lbs.. The pin in the RD popped out and the cage swung round and hit the rear stay.. a nasty sight.. Was a nice SL2 (world champ colours)
  5. I have never had any issue wiht the guys. I have have had 2 bikes replaced by them over the years. never a problem. the last time the bike had to go to the states as they wanted to see it over there. I was without a bike for about 8 weeks. Did it bother me, no I just got ou on the mtb bike. Why not try that for a while onetime.. Will get rid of some of your frustrations.
  6. Why is the 121km race R160 - bet there is no road closure...
  7. Stringbean - should have been in our team.. We have 2 backup vans..lol...
  8. Great Saddle. Been on mine for 2 years now.. not problems at all
  9. Yes I know you can switch the GPS uint off but they are saying they can't make sure that it is off all the time.
  10. Use a polar.. look thats all I heard last night at the rider info. It might change by then
  11. I was at the Epic rider evening last night and must say as very informative. They have a very interesting rule: No GPS devices are allowed to be used that all during the event. So those of you using a Garmin will need to use something else. The reseason why: The land owners do not want poeple coming back to ride the trails again. Whats your views??
  12. Mackem is my partner
  13. Thanks Tarmac.. cheers mate
  14. This is true....
  15. Great Pics.. Was an awsome ride
  16. So here is a question. Out of everyone that has voted. Who has used both? I have and the functionality on the 705 garmin is in a league of its own
  17. Only if you get the new wireless powertap..
  18. never lost a bottle with mine.. Also got the mtb version.. I can't even take the bottle out once its in.. very secure
  19. jermyd: thanks mate.. I already have the mail addy and I'm already starting the mail I could not agree with you more.... anybody else from capetown or even the country want the email addy.. If more than 1 person writes in they will surely do something.. Even if they don't at least we as a comunity are doing something now... to be honest there are signs to stop people from speeding but they do not really help. What stops them is force. Once way or another.. Either in the wallet or jail time..
  20. I know thanks for your concern.. I have just hit my boiling limit now.. enough is enough..
  21. Ok.. So guys would anyone on here be willing to contribute to soemthing like this. See what we could do for the entire country.. If everyone gives say R200. I'm sure we could do something..
  22. See now that is worse than I have ever done. Wha tI'm saying in all this is enough is enough..; How many poeple must die before things start to happen. Last time I checked should ther be an accident between 2 raod users it must be reported within 24 hrs. Thats the law and can't be changed. If enought people start doing something about it.. What need to happen is the laws needs to do something about it. People have tried the Aware Bike and it has worked. As for new to this, I think not. As I said I have been riding to work for +- 5 years now, not sure you want ot call that new but hey thats your opinion. I'm not hear to pick a fight with poeple her at all. Yes I'm a realist too but you know what.. You have a voice so use it. If enough people shout somebody will hear you. It seems that things only happen when the worst has already happened. I bet you guys would not be sitting reading and saying all this if I ended up under the car. Be honest here. The only thing that saved my life is it all took place at 8km per hr. Saying all that I could have bouonded into the middle of the road nad been hit by another car. If I was in the wrong or if it was a true accident that cool, not a problem, but this was not.. I was in the middle of the intersection for him. anyway not the point of this thread....
  23. Yes I know things happen but come on.. Are you more aware when you are driving a car than the average person?? I ask you why?? If us as cyclists can do it then everyone can do it.
  24. Guys i Have all those things and they do not work... Lets be honest here.. How many poeple must die on the roads.. I know how to ride defensively. This guy pull out and hit me from behind.. How to you ride defensively agains that.. Please tell me..
  25. I am calm. Just pissed. As for comuting I have been doign this for 5 years. Also got a MTB but need to be doign training for the DC. I can't believe your attitudes towards this. From what I undrstand you seem to only care if somebody is seriously injured. If thats the case then people will never learn. It is about time that somebody did something.
