    Riding Position : with the Flip Chip there are 2 positions per fork --- so 100mm has NORMAL or STEEP and 120mm fork has NORMAL or STEEP Going for the Win - YES, if that is your scene! Just Finishing - YES, it will help you do that! With that FLIP CHIP you can choose -- you could even LOOK LIKE YOU GOING FOR THE WIN and then JUST FINISH ( like me! ) Or JUST BE FINISHING but then GOING FOR THE WIN ( sneaky! ) Choices! that is what this bike is about.

    tks - but that is where I fit in ... we have the Young Guns in Dylan Rebello and Marco Joubert out racing and railing berms whilst Average Joe's like myself are doing the hard work of mixing it up at the back of the field - I was fortunate enough to be the first rider to do a stage race ( I use the term " race " very lightly ) on 1 of the 3 prototypes back in early March - pre Cape Epic. we have a very special rider taking part on the new bike at this year's TransBaviaans .... doubt he will be racing it

    no problem with the kidding and ragging - impossible to have a bike that everyone LOVES / LIKES / WANTS TO BUY. with this bike we have to think PROGRESSIVELY as we don't redesign our bikes at this level every other year - we design / 3D print / revise / 3D print / develop / open tooling / order stock etc. a long process in anyone's language. Frame-Kit pricing will be confirmed next month - just waiting on some finer details as we want to ensure we get it SPOT ON - we will also market this bike globally and initially ship from SA - so that Rand Gamble is real!!!! Frame Warranty - we will offer a 5 Year Warranty on this frame

    if you are ever in PE - you are welcome to come and ride one - the bike was designed to NOT look like another " epically sparky sharp thing ". it is HARD to look unique in a market full of me-too designs. just look at the winner of the last World Cup XCO ...

    thank you - some great questions, here goes with some answers: 1. It will be FRAME only for sure -- same as when we launched the original VIPA in 2013 - let's you guys choose the spec/ build / 1x / 2 x/ Fox / RockShox / DVO / Formula / Magura / Whatever parts you dream of 2. Boost - yip, was essential 3. 31.6 - same as all VIPA's - also a common DROPPER POST size - bike is READY FOR A DROPPER 4. Threaded BB - yes, we're not a fan of those PRESSFIT disposables Color .... hang in there - everyone seems to miss the point of the PROTOTYPE COLORS -- LOUD and PROUD was the theme - not for everyone but we got HUGE MEDIA exposure from it and are getting alot of international enquiries based on the bike not being hidden amongst the pack all of the above info is available in the PRESENTATION BOOKLET which is downloadable from our website - we launched the bike to select media at the 2018 CAPE EPIC - guys got the full rundown on when/what/how we plan to launch the new ULTRA.

    yip - like the Enduro Bikes and those that cannot take 2 in the Front Triangle - it is just an option that does not cost anything and for those that like to do the serious endurance stuff ( self-assisted and no water points for hours ) this adds some value and shows we care about the details

    under the Downtube --- Munga , Freedom Challenge, Tour Divide etc. just an option if you need/want it. the front triangle fits 2 full size bottles comfortably already too.

    4 BIKES IN ONE with our FLIP CHIP ---- something for everyone ... if you want to RACE IT - geo can be switched, if you want TRAIL/FUN/RIDE/PLAY it - flip the chip and add the 120mm fork.

    correct - as we made 3 prototypes - yes, 3 in existence for the Cape Epic ... the purpose of Cape Epic - to RIDE and RACE IT in real world conditions -- oh, and that NEON YELLOW - just to get you guys all hot under the collar and make sure you notice the bike out on the trail! some German brands chose to ride without branding, we chose WITH BRANDING. personal choice I guess? hold your horses --- final version is already in SA and will be debuting it at SA's largest and most prestigious ENDURANCE RACE on the calendar - hope to see you there, you can come see the chain stays in the flesh ( weave )

    Arguably our biggest bike project to date --- the new VIPA ULTRA will be hitting the local trails shortly. Following it's debut at the 2018 CAPE EPIC, the new bike has seen 6 months of added refinement ( on top of the 18 months of design and development ) as well as extensive riding and testing in South Africa. Rider feedback and real-world feedback have resulted in various refinements and tweaks to those first bikes debuted in March. The new and final frames are expected next month ( August 2018 ). We will be launching a dedicated website and portal for all things ULTRA.

    agree 100%. cheap mechanical disc brakes are more for looks than function.

    fair enough ... TEKTRO do have a MASSIVE range of brakes .. some cheap, some expensive ... we use the EXPENSIVE stuff on our JSL20 never had any issues on my son's JSL16 - also running same brakes as we specced on the JSL20 over the past few years.

    go BIG - we have the CARBON JSL20 on clearance -- link here -https://momsenbikes.com/shop/buy-juvenile-bikes/mtb-momsen-20-juvenile-jsl20-carbon-2016/ you will not find a better 20" Wheel Hardtail JUNIOR bike in the market! if out of your price bracket - the JSL20 with TEKTRO HIGH QUALITY V-Brakes is better than 99.99% of the cheap mechanical disc brakes on the market and also easier to pull for a youngster.
