  1. Hi guys. If you look at my profile I used to be active in bike building and collecting 3 yrs ago. But due to some hard hits etc. I lost everything. I've now settled in withok estates Gauteng and I long for building again. If there are any frames and parts lying around. I would appreciate it. I don't have much to offer . But maybe I can help with something. Tia
  2. hi I could really put it to good use. I will wash and polish your bikes for them lol
  3. Hit the nail on the head , as for if it will be a success I do not know, but if not, total strip down and start thread ...opinions on this color 2.0 lol
  4. Fyi I had a piece of steel drilled out of my eye 3 months ago, but I still have full vision, lol , when its done inbox me and we go ride together on its debut , who knows maybe rolling with the hyena gets you street cred lol (all in the name of fun , thanx for your opinion its appreciated)
  5. The rear is not from another bike, the dunlop doesn't have a rear like that, keep trying lol
  6. Opinions welcome. But if you are 100% sure send a google pic to confirm. Let's see how long it takes
  7. All opinions welcome I take no offence . my idea is to have an idea of likes and dislikes and try to swing the dislikes by the end of the build. I love challenges and if I don't succeeded I strip it down and do a classic design . so its open season , call it how you see it
  8. Yip and ive got nothing but time lol. There is a lot of parts that aren't fitted yet . just assembled to give a rough idea .
  9. Thank you I appreciate your help, I also dont normally do old or even road bikes lol, but im actually enjoying this build ,
  10. And I write on old wheels before I have decals made for the tyres lol,
  11. Remember its still a work in progress, the other parts need to be sprayed , only the frame has been sprayed
  12. Thanx for the advice, my aim when I build something is to build it with the idea of not spending alot (unless ive decided beforehand on specific requirements and need to purchase) so I setout uuing what I have or can trade for, the fork sits nicely not tight which m happy about, the rims can take discs I just need to fabricate for the rear caliper as you mentioned, I didnt get done today as I was busy with the bike thats on the your opinions on the spry job thread , aswell as my drift trike build (no welding) . That said , im in helderberg and have some retro frames I want to swop for old unused components, on what forum can I post that tia
  13. the rear must be black . don't know if you can see the gold flakes
  14. I will take some pics lol but keep in mind this is just a very very rough Assembly just to get a visual from a distance . so the colours will be better because if primer and coats. And I'm using what I have available lol. But hey its a build thread so I will take some snaps now now . before I strip paint . I rode it when I bought it . I liked the way it felt like it was gliding. Apart from the slight noise due to not indexing the derailleur yet . maybe you like this 1 when its done Eugene "nudge nudge" lol
  15. I must still figure out how to reply to a post lol. I know that each person has their own taste and I like to hear about it (now I'm not saying anybody is a hater ,this is just a saying) haters will hate and good friends will be met . lol. Loving the responses ,an value every opinion thanks everyone
  16. Hi everyone so I didn't manage to take pics today. As I'm busy running around while trying to get the rough idea done today on the leturbo build but I will do so tomorrow when the sun is at its highest point haha . I might do a name the frame thread and see how that goes . lol. I'm not in love with the paintjob but its really eye catching especially in the day as it has multiple coats of metallic flake "candy" clear coat .
  17. Hi everyone. So my day was hectic but I got rough build done (sanded down sprayed 1 coat of each colour I thought I might like. Picked a colour did 1 coat no primer a metallic flake gloss ,put all parts I wanted in just loosely to get visual idea. Tonight I strip paint and tomorrow do the build. Using primers etc etc. So I decided on a Scarlett red will do 3 coats after which I will apply a gold flake and finish off with 5 coats of metallic candy gloss clear coat the 2 rear tubes will be done the same only in gloss black with gold flake. Front fork is the carbon fibre DT swiss ,the handle bar holder (pls educate me on proper names) is a gloss black with lime green pinstripe KONA . aluminum road racer handlebars will use white tape , going to gloss black the brake levers and shifters and use white tubing for all the steel cabling. I will get what I need to use the FSA gossamer crank set. Deore derailleurs , jalco big nine rear wheel and xcr 1 front wheel ,aluminum seat post and specialized saddle, stock brakes unless I can find disc brakes . ive taped up the Reynolds sticker so that will be visible. I want to rename it. Not a brand . thinking of calling it LeMODERN and model PHOENIX
  18. I also never do the animal print or camo thing. This is trying something different. I like black with white or white with black gloss finish with a glitter flake . to give a candy effect. But although I have wanted to strip it I'm going to push through and see what the end result is. As I changed the colour about 7 times already half way lol . it does look like a hyena haha. Maybe run with that theme. .
