  1. I agree, drilling holes in any frame material is a bad idea. I'm not sure how much seatpost you have to work with but have you looked into a strapon bottle cage mount, there are numerous brands that make them. I have one from Ryder that works well, simply straps to your seatpost or any part of the frame that isn't too thick and provides an extra spot to bolt on a bottlecage. I have attached a link to one below (please note im not affiliated with either Ryder or Dville Cyclery just posting as an example, of what has worked for me) https://dvillecyclery.co.za/product/ryder-cage-mount-blk/?utm_source=Google Shopping&utm_campaign=Google Merchant Shopping Feed&utm_medium=Google Merchant&utm_term=15327&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAtsa9BhAKEiwAUZAszd7Tax3HjIBTKw-LiRrmTTwJwFqYT0Qha6yMy_BGb3bNjzhBA5H0aBoC4VAQAvD_BwE
  2. Slightly controversial as some would say it was a downgrade. So the bike comes with the Shimano 105 11s R7000 groupset (cable actuated breaks). I had a bike with a 10 speed hydraulic Tiagra groupset on it that I wasn't using and switched the components across to later sell the bike I wasn't using. So in essence I lost one rear cassette speed in favour of hydraulic breaking, which I don't regret in the slightest. I later on bought a 2nd hand Shimano GRX 400 10s rear derailleur for its clutch to reduce chainslap when riding off road.
  3. I bought one 2nd hand off the hub 2 years ago. Absolutely love it, especially with some meaty 45c tyres. However I will add that I didn't enjoy the cable actuated disk breaks. Had a bike with a hydraulic groupset and switched it over.
  4. Unfortunately I will very much be needing and using it
  5. I would very much like the Campy Shifters and Derailleurs. Am very happy to buy them off you or trade your favourite beverage or snack🍷🍫. Unfortunately don't have a use for the rest so if you want to let it all go together then It can go to another lucky hubber.
  6. I know this topic is a few months old but have just recovered a saddle for a retro bike build project, wanted the saddle to match the tan bartape. I used this guy's YouTube tutorial as a guideline. Thought about using leather but in the end decided on fake leather/faux leather. Just finished recovering it took me almost 3 days, it's plain brown with no fancy decorative elements but I'm very happy with the result. Was a hell of a mission. Am I glad I attempted it? Yes would I do it again? Probably not🤣 I used contact adhesive for the top and a combination of staples and alcolin woodglue for the edges under the saddle.
  7. Fully agree there were aspects of the day that were not what I would have wanted however both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the event. We are looking forward to next year's race.
  8. I hope I'm not sidetracking the thread, but have also been looking at the Wahoo roam, the Roam V1 is currently on sale thru Wahoo fitness.com as well as one of the big bike shops, it's a good price at R3999 or R4999 for the head unit with sensor bundle. However it's a 4 year old device originally launched in 2019 with the V2 that was launched last year will there be support issues down the line for the older V1? Basically being half the price of the V2 makes the V1 an attractive option.
  9. Also very interested in a Switch Gravel frame only option in a size L/XL
  10. So glad you posted this I am also doing the 60miler on my roadbike with 33c Cyclo-cross Tyres, hope I survive. Will keep an eye out for you.
  11. Just picked up my Kickr Core and has two problems right out of the box, it have a large lump on the pulley wheel that shows up under the belt and the pulley wheel makes a scraping sound when it passes under the plastic covers that cover the inner workings of the belt. I have spoken to the bike shop that I purchased it from and they say they are running skeleton staff and that there is Noone in the warrentee department. I must just wait for things to Get better then they will assist me. Very annoying that relatively premium equipment has issues like this out of the box.
  12. I am assuming this is because they "sold" us stock that they had bought and paid for but where still waiting for it to be shipped/cleared/delivered to their stores. Provided this is the case and considering our current circumstances I believe this is perfectly acceptable sales/business practice. I for one have never been let down buy CWC to date and so will give them the benefit of the doubt and practice some patience albeit I must confess a hard task.
  13. that's funny I got Mathews letter and yes before I get corrected that's Mathew with one t, Mathew if you are out there this ones for you
