  1. I have to have a laugh at a lot of the comments I have seen. As a roadie, I have read through this forum how mtb'ers love the mud and the challenge and...and...and (Can't stop chuckling) I will be at next years MTB event with either a cyclocross or front suspension bike. If this is how soft mtb'ers are, I could bloody win Just before the event I did a "reckie" of the course (Pre-fixed course) with my my son's (9 & 10)on my wife's undersized MTB. The grass was higher than 7 foot tall in some sections, it had just stopped raining 30 minutes before we got there and started raining on the ride. We waded through water, cut through the grass and had an absolute JOL. What more must the organisers do, to make a ride more cushy? Can someone (whoever is in control of the rain or have access to the person that does) please get control of the weather. I have been to Sweat & Gears, leading up to the event and seen Lee literally bleeding, sweaty and full of mud, still with a grin on his face with excitement about this track. Seems to me the only thing that was wet on that day...are the people that won't stop moaning. GET TOUGH....RIDE ROAD
  2. Too true, was thinking about the permanent numbering that was on a previous thread, but in hindsight CSA is a scary thought.
  3. Great idea!!! maybe they could tie that in with the CSA licenses, issuing a permanent cyclists license and bike license?
  4. cadence sensor?
  5. I was the guy in the Sweat & Gears kit that shouted and waved my finger at the Bulk Pack guy...doesn't look like he will fess up!!!! Nice ride, thanks for the help yesterday!!!
  6. so anyone know what the rules are? I know he didn't feature at the finish. Maybe I am just a bit jealous I didn't get the same help I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW WHAT MAKES HIM BETTER THAN US TO GET SUPPORT FROM A CAR. I WAS PART OF TH 5MAN GROUP TRYING TO CLOSE THE GAP AFTER LOOSING THE VA BUNCH ON THE BIG CLIMB AFTER THE POTHOLE SECTION. KEPT THE GAP THE SAME FOR ABOUT 8KM (IN THIS TIME A BULKPACK MEAT RIDER CAME PAST US IN THE SLIP OF A HILUX BAKKIE -NOT FAIR) WE ROAD OUR ASSES OF TO TRY AND KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE GROUP. TommieV what kit were you in? I was also in that 5 man group. Man that was tough!!!!

  8. Anyone know who the BulkPack guy was that slipped behind a Toyota bakkie for about 10km after the potholes section???? (VA bunch) What are the rules and how long can you sit behind your team car for. I remember Nolan Hofman getting his wrist slapped for this at a 94.7? Gotta get someone to pull me back into the bunch when I get tired or puncture or whatever the reason is!!!!
  9. She said FROM 38km, but forgot to mention for the next 10km
