  1. Mid-morning ride out towards ORT. Decide to add 5km and head down Jet Park Road - south towards Kraft Rd next to the railway track. Recently tarred so nice ride. BMW, no plates (well I think temp plates) waves what looks like GPS. Two gents, Stop, park on passenger side. Guy shows me a SAPS badge (was what the driver waved out the window earlier). No they are looking for somebody selling drugs and stolen goods, did I see anything suspicious. Long story short, can I take their number. Not long before he is typing his details. OOK MAAR LEKKER STUPID, my phone is no longer in my care. Be careful. 😡
  2. If I look at the 3D route video it looks like the route changed direction from 2016. Is this true or am I smoking my socks.
  3. Here is an option to let Discovery know how we feel. Will likely make no difference and to be honest I have stopped playing Vitality's games, but it summarises the issue quite nicely. https://www.change.org/p/discovery-health-discovery-vitality-to-review-their-point-system
  4. Great service from Gordon!!! He fixed the clamp for me, and I bought a spare with green "crocodile teeth" to keep available when next disaster strikes. Thanx for the tip Mikesa9
  5. Thank you all. I did contact Sue. Will collect said part later today!!!!
  6. Where do I find a replacement clamp arm plastic thingie for my Buzz Rack? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
  7. Wessel, I assume the 26km is roughly the same as in 2013. Where do you add the 3km? In the Bloekombos by the horses or east towards the rubble like in 2012?? We all know that assumption is the mother of all ...-ups, but I need to prep my 13-yr daughter, before and during the ride!!!!
  8. Great night out!! Second Kia ride in the Winter months. Track was great and I was surprised by the amount of "Afrikaans" from my fellow riders. While I was collecting my number I heard that the 2015 Kia Series will only commence in February 2015?? Not sure why the will miss the best months, but will certainly be back!!
  9. To my knowledge its only online entries. But maybe Charnelle has a special trick!!
  10. This must rate as one of the best races on the calender. The 35km was really awesome, but the organisation and water tables impressed most!! The Dunblane clowns can learn a thing or two. Well stocked with cold product AND friendly. I will be back and I will spread the good news!!!! My better half was a bit broken last night, (thats wife not bike ), but she also loved it.
  11. What a bloody mudbath!!! How wrong can one be (see my comment earlier in the week). HTFU lasted for 35km, but those annoying loops at the end pissed me off and pushed us to 38km. Was nice enough and my 12yr old daughter finished, but I have a particular issue with "stupid" organisers who cannot adopt to the conditions. The loops were unnecessary and could be easily changed. They could also change the alignment to bring us back along the tar, cutting out the muddy mielie fields up to our second visit to the crappy water point. And finally, if the route was 35km last year and you add kms at the beginning inside the estate what do you expect to happen to total distance. Stupid move on a rainy, muddy and miserable day. I wonder if any of the organisers have ever been on a bicycle. Despite their best efforts the day was fun and will be remembered!!!
  12. Did the 35km in 2013. Flat, fast and very little mud. Only where you turned back south after the strech along the railway line, and inside Dunblane, almost at the finish. Did Serengeti in 2013, when it was dry, and the swimming portion made me decide to forego entry in 2014. Dunblane was MUCH better. There is a dusty section between the mielies in the east which might be muddy after lots of rain, but lets hope. Long-term shows big rains on Monday only.
  13. Can we do a line entry?? The better half only commits the day before!!
  14. Racetec only required for road races. If you got it for the MTB, somebody tricked you!!
