KB with 11km to go and TR still dark!

TR has gone dark and KB not updating urghh.

The section they're in has always been poor from a tracking point of view, I'm working on the assumption that KB emerged first and that's why it updated first. But we'll know soon enough.

I see KBs tracker updated first, hmmm does that put him in the lead?

We're in the dead zone where the trackers don't work. I guess we'll only get an update in 10minutes.

Sorry it looks like Karina hasn't left yet so she is our last rider.

Meanwhile the last 3 riders are leaving WP5 only 630km left for them.

And they're off, 50km left to determine the champion for 2019!

This rest for Benky of over 30 minutes is his second longest stop in the race. I wonder if that will make a difference.

They're both at RV5 let's see who cracks.

They've used different strategies so far KB has stopped for just less than 2 hours while TR has stopped for just under 6 and both have worked. But I suspect you're right and racing will be the focus.

Last race village is 30 minutes away will we see different strategies?

The numbers are still in her favour she has roughly 680kms and 72 hours left , at her riding pace of 12kph that's 56hours of riding.

Is it my imagination but is the location of Race villages 3 and 5 different this year?

Meanwhile at the back of the field there are 5 riders behind the the cut 4 are on the move and KB resting up in Britstown. KB is a veteran of 2 Mungas in her first, riding with tackies she kept us enthralled as she kept going despite the fact that she had no chance of finishing in time, I think she got to about 800km when the race was cut. Last year she absolutely breezed through to a very competent finish, this year it looks like she is being tested to the limit. The one thing you can bet on is that she won't give up easily.

As things stand we're going to have a first time winner once again, last year we thought that Marco would be unbeatable but along came Ramses. After dominating last year's race I thought Ramses would be unbeatable but here we are with Benky and Thinus out front almost 100km ahead of the rest.

Got to love the fact that Benky still has a sense of humour, Sleep? Benky - I wish! Thinus - X.

This is going to be tasty upfront. Meanwhile at the back we have two ladies MK and KB just ahead of the cut.

I just looked at Arnold Aldous history and it now shows him actually staying on course, weird.
