ER24 paramedics were called to Titran Road near to the Rossburgh testing grounds for a cyclist who is believed to be in his early twenties that was knocked down by a bakkie this evening. When they arrived on the scene and found the cyclist in the road, with the bakkie just a few meters away. The paramedics assessed him and found he was in a critical condition. He had a suspected head injury and suspected chest injury. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient to help stabilise him further. The patient was rushed to King Edward Hospital in a critical condition for further medical intervention. It is believed that the driver of the bakkie lost control while taking the corner and collided with the cyclist. The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
