  1. I see the pic didn't upload. Will do as soon as I get to a computer. This is all beyond me.
  2. So been jamming this the weekend. Already gonna n- 1 so I can keep it. Just trying to figure the ratio. 42 x 16 is pretty cool but I know as soon as I hit the mountain I'm dead. What is a good balance between hills and flats?
  3. Let me test ride it first. It is a baby blue one. Good condition and a nice all around beater.
  4. As per usual I got so pumped I didn't consider any challenges and figured i could just slap the wheels on and go party on my bike. Luckily, through the power of the Hub, I have managed to find a complete On-One Pompino for a super reasonable price. It has clearance for 35mm tyres which would be suitable for the riding I am considering. On the upside I will have 2 sets of wheels and tyres, one fixed/slick and the other freewheel/gravel. On the downside would be getting the gearing right on both sets of wheels so I don't have to muck with my chain overtime I want to ride it in a different configuration. And I don't get to build a bike a bike up.
  5. So maybe I've gone mad but I have a fixed gear wheel set lying around and I don't really want another track bike. Toying with the idea of a tracklocross bike but 2nd hand frames are are pretty non existent. So was thinking I could slap them on a mtb frame and make a fixed monster cross Frankenstein bike. Yes, it's impractical and silly but the right trails or road it should be a blast. If you think this is a bad idea it is so good what mtb frames would be compatible?
  6. So I took my bibs for a 5 hour ride yesterday and this was my experience. As I had previously read on this thread, I soaked them in water and gave the chamois a scrunching. I was super excited and woke up earlier than necessary and put them on and promptly went back to bed, thinking it would be a good idea for them and my body to get acquainted. They were snug, not in an uncomfortable way but more of a "hey, these are snug" kind of way. I rode to to meet a couple friends and by the time I got to the meeting place I had already forgotten I was wearing them. It was only after about 3 hours I experienced some discomfort but I attribute that to being firmly planted in the saddle and not relieving any of the pressure points. I made a mental note to get out of the saddle every once it a while and didn't experience any further discomfort for the remainder of the ride. The only other gripe, although minor, was that the chamois sort of shifted forward between my thighs. Possibly not enough chamois cream or wriggling around too much dying up the final climbs. All in all at the end of the day I felt they did their job better than I did and I will definitely be adding another pair to the closet.
  7. I am happy with a snug fit, my current bibs' straps are quiet loose and gets rather uncomfortable after 2+ hours. I should've done this after the first ride I suffered discomfort. But also trying to support local without looking like knob took a lot of time I should've been working doing research. And budget and reviews. It has been an ordeal.
  8. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I think my misspent skateboarding with jeans around my ankles has blurred my sense of normality.
  9. So after reading the positive feedback of these bibs i decided to get myself a pair. Mailed the sales department to ask about try before I buy and they were happy to but also asked for my basic sizes. They recommended a Medium. I would've thought I was a Large? Waist Size - 32" Usual Bib Size - LargeHeight - 181 cmWeight - 70 kg I don't feel like the schlep of sending a pair of shorts back and forth. I know they are the professionals at what they do but I am somewhat concerned that the Medium will be too tight? Or do i have body dysmorphia
  10. What competition? Asking for a friend
  11. If you are looking for a fixed gear Rook is the best bang for your buck, especially with their current lockdown special. I would should suggest flat bars and pedal straps initially if you are looking to do skids. Otherwise they are solid bikes that are easily upgradable and your skill level progresses.
