  1. You should name and shame. BTW I ride a repaired carbon Argon 18 and a repaired carbon BMC HT MTB both I'm completely happy with as I knew upfront what I was getting. Also have a carbon Soft tail Niner purchased new. but that's besides the point.
  2. I sent my Reba Duel Air in for service and new stanchions at a cost of R3800.00 ( quoted and accepted)When the fork came back it was converted to solo air. On enquiry I was told that the spares for Duel air are no longer available. Can anyone confirm this. Also I would have thought that the Sram service department should have told me this at the quoting stage.

  4. I have been dealing with Conrad for some years now and he has always gone out of his way to help. I also liked to support eagle canyon Cycles as its nice and close. I for one was delighted when I walked into the bike store to see that Conrad and Chaunce are now the owners. I agree, at first the store was empty, and naturally they would will be having teathing problems, but when I popped in today the shop was full of shiny new bikes and I couldn't resist it when I was offered a pair of shoes R380.00 less than the original Eagle canyons sticker price. You guys should give them a chance and build up a relationship.
  5. I have the Argon Gallium pro. brilliant bike no complaints at all. Its also a better looking bike than the giant. ( my opinion only)
  6. Hi, Bad luck with your shoulder, I had the identical injury some 4 years back,I had the surgery, which involved disc like washers and wiring. Problem was that it all pulled through the ligaments with in a week or two and i am now left with a colar bone protruding out the top of my shoulder, all as if I hadn't had the surgery. Haven said this, I do have normal movement of my arms and shoulders, it took a while to be able to get into gym and start some strength training, also takes ages to be able to sleep on that side. I am able to ride all and sundry as if nothing had happened.
  7. I'm total pissed off with "heini11" who advertised a groupset for R4k, - I offered his asking price and he mailed back that all was good and he would contact me with payment details. The very next day the same parts were in a new ad' together with a set of wheels, I questioned this with "heini11" and he said, "no, the sale is still on, but can I not buy these wheels as well, ( another 10 K) I said no thanks but is the groupset is still on. he answered yes,. I believe he has realised that he could get more than original asking price and then snuck out of a completed deal. Now when I mail him I get no response. He has another "Bargain" up for grabs on todays ads. Is this the kind of sales and ethics we have to expect from people on the Hub. People should do there homework 1st and get their price right. Not auction to the top bidder.
  8. I had them do my MTB last Wednesday and the rode 85KM on Saturday in the wind, all previous aches and pains were gone, I highly recommend
  9. Vets= between 40yrs and 50 yrs masters= 50-60yrs and you qualify during the year that you turn 40
  10. If you are riding mtb and in muddy stuff take a look at the "Gore Ride on" cables. totally sealed and last forever. bit pricy to buy here (Capetown somewhere) but CRC have at a resonable price.
  11. I hadn't heard of this site until reading this thread, When buying from overseas is it true you pay 35% duty on landing? What's the quality of the shorts? Padding? I'm normally a large (size 34 jean pant) what size should I order from this site?
  12. dont let your better half know what you spend on your bike, then you can beat any time
  13. Any one know if there is a weight limit for 29" American Classics, might have a chance of purchasing 2nd hand but i'm no light weight.
  14. 02.55 for the 7okm,(not to bad for a 53 year old) had a brilliant line sprint with another rider who stole it by 2/ 100th of a second, we'd been at each other for vertually the whole second lap.
