  1. Unfortunately that is bull (see what I did there ), this idiot in the picture is actually taunting the poor beast http://www.dailydot.com/society/facebook-share-torero-munera-bullfighting/
  2. Her name is Tamzyn I think, but the number for her on their website always goes to her voice mail, I guess she doesnt have a receptionist.
  3. Thanks Ralph. Looks like I was being an idiot though, didn't specify that I was in Cape Town. I guess "Lakeside" is a pretty generic place name. Seems like all the virgin Actives have resident Biokinteicists (Not the I have actually managed to get through to one yet).
  4. Hi. Please send prices on your MTB 26" range!
  5. Hey Folks I'm looking for a Biokineticist near Lakeside/Westlake/Retreat etc, does anyone have a recommendation for a good one?
  6. Bleh, I thought that might be the case. Thanks!
  7. Hey folks who are more knowledgable than me... I have read back about 10 pages and can't find any mention of it, can I collect my race number on the day if I am there early enough? I'm from the deep south so driving out to Stellies on a Saturday just to fetch a number isn't my idea of fun.
  8. While I try not to wish harm on anyone... this is hilarious
  9. Thanks. I did think about that, but I really doubt it is worth the time, I couldn't pin anything on them. If only I'd been filming with my GoPro this time. If they had been going for my bike they would have been bitterly dissapointed but this one seemed pretty vindictive, like it was "just for fun". edit: Thanks for all the comments guys, I'm glad nothing worse happened too! Won't let idiots like this put me off though.
  10. This is probably a bit of a pointless post, but anyways, here goes. I was riding along misty cliffs (heading in the Kommetjie direction) late this morning when I felt a car too close for comfort, almost like I was being forced off the road, just then the front passenger leaned out of the window and smacked my right arm as they drove past, definitely intentionally, knocking it right off the handlebars. I thank God I was able to keep control somehow with one hand. There were two cyclists quite far ahead of me and I saw one of them looking around as the Tazz went past them, so I dunno if they tried anything with them. The car was a slightly faded red Tazz with white CA license plate and I think 3 guys in it. Anyways, be safe folks, there are some miserable people out there. (In other news, how lucky are we to have this place to ride in? Despite the wind it was a beautiful day to be out on the bike )
  11. Thanks DJR and HDW, appreciate it, that clears it up a lot. Sounds like it is worth signing up, even if it doesn't have a direct effect on Argus seeding.
  12. Could one of you folks who are in the know help me understand whether I need to become a PPA member again. Last year I signed up for my wife and I, because we were riding together and as a first timer with no seeding rides she wanted the slight seeding improvement of being a member. This year I am riding alone and anticipating doing a seeding ride or two beforehand, so do I need to pay PPA for membership? Thanks! By the way, I did try to look here http://www.cycletour.co.za/index.php/information/licensing/ but it made me stand in the queue again and doesn't seem to say anything useful.
  13. Weppie, those ratrodbikes guys are awesome. Most friendly forum I have ever come across as well. I have been following them for a couple of years, I'm sure you already know, but for the other guys, they have just completed their 7th annual build-off which always results in some amazing bikes. Here is one of my favorites from last year: http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=43736 I just wish we could get hold of those awesome prewar frames in SA. I'm having to settle for building up an old 20inch bike from the 80's.
  14. I'd also like to thank all the guys doing work on the trails. I was there on Saturday afternoon and it looked amazing. I was a little concerned as to whether we were supposed to be riding the trail yet or not, because there was a log at the entrance which looked like it might have been blocking the way at one point, but since everyone else was doing it I did too (I can hear my mother saying "if all your friends jumped in off a bridge..."). Tried to avoid any soft lips and berms and dragging the brakes. Anyways, just a thought, if you guys are going to be working every Saturday, I'm sure there will be times when you need to close a trail, so it would probably be worth having a written sign or something, because I wouldn't want to undo anyone's hard work.
  15. My routine is less rigorous, I bounce it on the suspension a few times to get the grit off the tyres, then I just put it inside and leave it there until the next day.
