Event Name: School MTB Skills Camp When: 3 July 2019 - 5 July 2019 Where: Contermanskloof, Western Cape Category: MTB Bring your kids for real MTB Skills training with an ex South African Champion. 3 Days of proper skills coaching on actual trails. If your child is serious about riding and competing at the highest level, then it is imperative that you give them the skills they require in todays fast paced XCO and Enduro racing. Pre work drop off can be arranged each day, pick-up between 5 and 6pm Wednesday and Thursday, Friday between 1 and 2pm. A lunch pack will be provided each day as well as juice on the trails. Hi All I offer MTB Skills clinics in the Tygerberg/Durbanville area and you can pre-book for other areas. www.mtbskillsclinic.co.za The clinics range from a basic skills to Advanced rider in all disciplines from XC to Enduro and DH. Our skills sessions cover, general bike handling, basic suspension and bike setup, cornering, braking, body position, jumps, drops, rock gardens and overall confidence improvement on the trail.   10. You haven't mentioned what bike you are riding, wheel size, tyres. These all make a huge difference when making a decision like this.
  11. Something that everybody is missing is again the safety issue, not the DH/T-shirt brigade/XC crap. Riding up a blind dangerous piece of track is just senseless. On top of that I don't think that the problem is so much the Downhillers, who, yes, ride fast, but are under control. The problem I see is the riders, who think they can ride fast, who also ride down the "big berm" and who have no chance of stopping in an emergency. They could be new DH riders or XC riders or fathers with their sons. I would think that the big issue is COMMON SENSE! COMMON SENSE should say that the piece of track you are about to ride up is blind. Don't ride up it!! There are very few pieces of trail that are like that, so why ride up them???? There are also better trails around these dangerous parts, most are more fun to ride up. Now just to put flame to petrol, why would signs work?? When last did you see a Capetonian stop at a stop street sign in their car?
