  1. Is WW still such a strong rider?
  2. If that's true. and it's based on the European season, surely we can have them just 3 or 4 weeks earlier. Do you remember last year - the cold fronts hit us that weekend as well. I also got sick, and then was even more sick afterwards. Usually at this time we get some of the worst cold fronts of the year, and then the guys get sick. Isn't end of April a credible date. It's just 4 weeks earlier?
  3. This is a quote from a buddy of mine who trained for SA's and is sick for a 2nd time and can't take part: "really struggle to understand why they would have SA road champs in the middle of winter? They have SA MTB champs on the 16th of June and MTB is recognized as cycling's winter sport, so to have both SA's two weeks apart just doesn't make sense..."
  4. Here's the worst result you'll find, and it's recent. Go wild. You're making us all very proud.
  5. Myself, where can like to be all my voters what are you talking about? please don't come to the Free State, there is already a shambles here. With you here and your intelligible drivel it's really going to be disaster. We need at least people who can read, write and spell properly to starting working on the problem. Thanks boet.
  6. Ja, I'm not your leader. This is the age of collaboration, lateral thinking, partnership. Everyone equal. Smell the coffee. Try to find a context and be congruent to it.
  7. glad you're paying attention Psycho. to my posts I mean. now apply the lesson, moenie na my kyk vir leierskap
  8. really? does the Hub consist of: Psycho Popeye Witrot Man with No Name Titus? think we need some new blood. Been one of the most boring, unconsctructive afternoons in a long time. Guys try to get out of the patern of: name calling x is better than y because a debate is meant to be an exchange of ideas, contribution of ideas, not a setup and shoot down approach. it's entertaining in a WWW/RAW way, but not many intelligent people are going to stick around and play kindergarten verbal bashing. There are, actually, better things to do.
  9. wanneer train jy Psycho as jy die heeltyd hierso sit en se hoe goed jy is/slegse al die ander?
  10. how many experiments went wrong on you? btw how is it on the vlaktes? you must have wireless adsl. or do you sms someone in bloem and then they post for you. gaan bietjie investigative reporting done on hierdie avatars, en dan so bietjie spy spy spieel met die camera. julle outjies beter nie neuskrap by SA's okay.
  11. shortage of breath? in your case probably a shortage of breasts
  12. bianchi must be the ugliest bike out there
  13. it's almost like cycling at walking pace, but it's that small area between your legs when you're walking, and not thinking.
  14. dan moet jy seker 'n girl wees Jacques
  15. wat is sy stats? het hy ooit 'n 40km onder 'n uur gery?
  16. does the squash game I won last night against my ex (3-0) count? no, so get over me, and let's focus on what really counts: Free State Cycling is a shambles the licensing system is dumb triathletes are the best TT riders
  17. ag its easy to get your food on albrecht, feed, and attack on albrecht. it's a very short hill. just the end bit is steep, but it's like 5 or 6m long.
  18. Popeye, hoe goed is hierdie ou Psycho?
  19. have you ever ridden ALBRECHT?
  20. Titus, I'm referring to the spot about 10-30m from the top of Albrecht, where the guys are going walking space. The island falls away and the road is wider on both sides. All the guys will be going very slow here, and there'll be fewer guys coming at a time.
  21. btw how do you chase a breakdown?
  22. doesn't it make sense to pick up your kos where you'll be cycling slowest? waar se latrinus is die feeding station? which street?
  23. Very self-indulgent, but since you're asking I think my 2005 timetrial in the Ironman was good, not based on time or average speed, but on training, getting sick etc. If you look at my Argus I think I did a terrible 3:30. Was dead afterwards, used the Argus to see if I'd be ready for the Ironman, and really didn't feel like I was ready. But went to PE, stayed in a hotel for a week (no training) and on the day, woke up and felt great. Under those circumstances (recovering from a strep throat in first week of March) I managed a 6 hour 180km ride. It's not an awesome time, but it was a faster average I believe than my Argus time (done in groups etc). My first ever TT on my Zipps was a 90km TT in a half ironman in 2:21 (37km/h). But I think I've already said that. I need to update these results, but as I say ad nauseum, wanted to do that this year, at this year's SA TT.
  24. you pick up your food on the top of Albrecht, you don't eat it there, unless you're dom or recovering from your own breakaway/bonk
  25. smeek? are you so desperate? No if you're going to put info up about me (notice you leave out this year's Argus result), then I think it's fair to provide access to my blog for those individuals who particularly care about genuine info. I don't think I am such a great example of someone to put on a pedestal,. either as an excellent cyclist or not. like with most things, it's not so black and white. I've had awesome races, and not so awesome races. But you make a very good point. you're as good as your last race. Unfortunately, thanks to the CSA and the local Einsteins, I wasn't allowed to ride the last local race, and am currently prevented from riding anything. I wasn't in the shape of my life., was quite heavy, but as you'll see from the Argus times (improving all along), I wanted to break through the barrier. Hence the big training week of 26 hours, taking a week off work. We all know it's not easy to get back into it when you've gotten vrot. So having done all that effort to get into shape, and have some klasvakie from the Free State look on his little sheet of paper, and vomit some garbage about licenses - show no incentive to allow a motivated to ride, that system and those people need to change. Not sure how other riders who love cycling and taking part, who love competition can argue with that.
