the best place to have a feeding station for SA's (Road) is at the top of albrecht, maybe 30 metres over the top, when the guys are still going slowly. As it is it's just before the climb past Oranje Meisieskool, where the guys will be wanting to gain momentum, not lose it. Would be great to have cyclists designing these races, the way Gary Player designed race courses and not people who don't know what're doing.

wonder why there are still 10 000 tickets available. I heard that SARVU or SA RUgby or something charge 7 million, and then the stadiums allocated prices for tickets. I think the stadiums should make the money first, and then give proceeds to the rugby boards. Because the sutiation now is that its a weaker English team, and people aren't buying tickets anyway, and there is no flexibility to pick up the slack. And apparently there is no place for a mouse in Bloem, lots of people can't find accomodation. And these are domestic tourists. The 2010 World Cup is less than 3 years away. What are they gonna do, erect a tent village? People gonna sleep in Loch Logan? or on the field before the game?

we'll know at the Prologue. do you know they are doing an Argus-like thing this year. Guys can ride the first stage of the tour in a similar way to the last day of the Giro. Since it's in London, it's going to be interesting. People are even talking about Dubai (for the prologue) next year. Theoretically it could be anywhere.

I just think we're a lot better than England. Or should be.

which barlowworld riders can hold their own in the Alps? Robbie certainly can't. would be awesome to have a south african get a mountain stage win, but i don't see that happening for years and years. or am i wrong?

i used to hate cannondale. i reckon the CAAD4's are still some of their best bikes - naturally not road. Cervello's are better, but for it's price, the aero tubing of the Cannondale TT (older versions tho) still rocks.

actions speak louder than words. have to say, if Barlowworld are in I am going to watch every stage. It's time the South Africans appeared on that stage, and a RED TEAM is really going to stand out (hopefully for their performances too).

in other countries there are laws to protect cyclists - ie they are seen as having as much right to use the road. in addition, if you hit a cyclist (or pedestrian) you have penalties aplplied to your license. The onus is thus on motorists to be careful and considerate to cyclists, as it should be. I heard this legislation is under copnsideration here, but is not yet implemented. Hopefully it will be soon
