  1. The TSA fee is included in the entry fee, however the day lic is something which you already have to buy.. its just going up! The Sanctioing fee included in the entry fees was mentioned so that joe public knows that ALL the entry fee money isn't going to the organisers... a large portion is going to TSA.
  2. This fee is already included in the entry fee, except your day licence which you obviously have to buy. Buy one annually and its R300 for and adult and R200 for a scholar.
  3. Durban Multisport Series #2 - 22 July update: The date clash with the Total Sports Ladies race is currently being dealt with through Durban’s Strategic Projects Unit and the Total Sports race organisers. The Durban Multisport Series was granted race permission for the 22nd of July date in February 2012. Neither race will be cancelled and B-Active Sports will be working with the Total Sports race organisers, the City of Durban and Metro Police to make sure that each route is safe and enjoyable for the athletes. The closure of the beachfront road (Snell Parade) at Blue Lagoon due to the road realignment construction has also changed the planned cycling routes and both organisers will have their routes confrimed by Wednesday the 11th July. Confirmed cycling route maps will be posted on the bactive.com website as soon as they are confrimed. Entries for the 22nd of July event close on Wednesday the 18th, and spaces are limited. Regards The B-Active Team
  4. Not sure if you guys have seen the new TSA fees applicable to all new events in 2012 and going forward. Not sure how to put the pdf price list on this post for everyone to see... but you need to read it. It was confirmed last night and the email was waiting for me in my inbox while a drank my morning coffee. Basically if you do a std distance race and don't have a day licence, its R80 in levies for TSA and R100 for the Day licence, + the entry fee!!! Sprint day Licence fees are R30 and Standard / Olympic and longer day licence fees are R100 per event. Race Levies / Sanctioning fees (included in entry fees) range between R30 and R100 depending on the distance and level or the event. We need athletes to see these figures as it explains why entry fees have gone up 30-40% in the last 2 years. (ps ..let me kow how to post a pdf on here??)

  11. We will once again try for full road closure, but until we reach 1000 Ultra Competitors we battle to get the political support to close the roads. We have secured partial road closure as in March, which went without a problem. Trust me, the lack of road closure is not through lack of trying. Hope to see you there.

  19. Hi all Thanks for the feedback. You were correct about the swim, we got a measurement of 1650m, due to the buoy being blown off just before the start. We will try and rectify that for the october event, but those massive buoys drag most anchors... but we will try. Regarding the bike route, its exactly 86km, 1km short per lap. we should turn you at the top of the next hill on the Dargle road, but its too dangerous and so we would rather keep it shorter and safer. Thanks for the comments about the water tables, our new management plan worked and we had two back up plans ready incase of 40 deg heat again.... instead we got a cyclone! Regarding the bike route, we are trying our last option... The Minister of Transport for the October event, as his KZN Department didn't grant us Road closure for this event. We will try and hope, but if no success, we will just do our best to mark or fill in the pot holes ourselves and place more marshals on the bike route. Rest those legs and good luck to all Ironman competitors. Hope to see you back again in October. Regards Damian, Lauren, Caryn and the B-Active Team

  24. Wow... this is interesting... got any more details? TSA is not making any friends and as mentioned before there is something in the pipeline which kicks off soon. If TSA think they can use force, is won't bode well for them being the "controlling body" So how was the rest of the race guys??
  25. Bubblez, i'd be surprized if you don't beat your time. The Midlands Ultra bike route is realiviely flat and very fast on the return section of the loop (x4) your run route is also flatter then EL... so it should be faster! Good luck with your final prep. Entries closing within 24hrs.....
