Early morning rides for me - 4.15am - 6am ....zero cars. Then a mtb ride mid-week/Thursday (my only day off). Problem is I have to go to bed early to get enough sleep. Otherwise indoor trainer. Bit of a bitch. I often wonder how people get in their training and become really good as nine to fivers.

Fixies are going to sell. Big Time. Good bikes. I remember drooling over the PK Ripper in the BMX boom - must be 83/84?

I don't have the experience of many here, but I rode my on one rigid and loved it. While I became very aware of picking lines, cadence and maintaining "looseness" in my arms to avoid fatigue, I just was not in the condition, physically, to really enjoy it. Bottom line is: I have to be fitter, stronger and leaner to really be able to truly rock the rigid, let alone singlespeed. I will go back one day - maybe when I have some feeling back in my forearms
