Hi all
My son has a Titan Hades 20 inch
The Shimano 6-Speed Twist shift is in tatters, and he's traditionally battled to use it properly
I'd like to replace it with a traditional finger shifter to make it easier for him, and hopefully create as much enthusiasm for MTBing as I have
My Question is:
I'm not finding used 6-Speed Shifters, would it be a Technical issue if I used a 7-speed shifter?
Cheers
Paul
Afternoon all
Hope anyone could assist with a little advice to a reasonable newbie:
I currently use a Garmin Vivoactive as a general all purpose fitness device, however, have really started to enjoy and focus on MTBing.
With maximized settings, not using the LiveTrack function, I am able to get 7hrs on average out of my watch
My rides are increasing in length with the Group I have joined up with, and I am concerned that I'll hit the dreaded "Dead Battery" point in the next bit
My thoughts are:
Buy a Wahoo Tickr, and use the Wahoo App on an old Cellphone mounted in a Top Tube bag to do what the watch would do
My metrics I chase are speed, distance, HRM, Elevation
Then with time extend into a Element Device when finances allow me to (and my wife has had her say )
Is this a viable idea? Are there better APPs?
Thanks everyone for the feedback
Replacement was due to an Insurance Claim, so was toying with my options.
Elected to take the Fox
Which Reba?
Recon is not in the same league as the Reba or Fox.
The Fox SC 32 performance is the most high end of the options you presented, more in line with the Rockshox SiD so your presented options will only elicit responses for the Fox.
What is your body type? Mesomorph, ectomorph or endomorph?
What is your current usage like and how do you see this improving in your run up to munga?
Reason I'm asking is because the Fox SC32 is a noticeably more flexy fork than a RS Reba and cheaper to maintain.
How much time do what to play around with set up?
I would certainly scratch the Recon gold RL from the list unless a high performance (relative) budget fork is what you are after.
Thanks for the good feedback...Reba is the Reba RL 29/15SA 100...does that help?
Hi all
Need a little advice on a new front shock
Note: Price is not a decider
I generally do little downhill type riding, more Intermediate type gravel with an aim to want to do a Mungra Grit (or similar) type Race by the end of the year.
Thanks
Thanks for the positive feedback guys...here's looking forward to meeting you all on the Trails!
Hi all
Got roped into the Juma by a mate last year - had a ball
Been using my brother-in-laws loan "Raleigh - HT" ever since
My upcoming 40th gift has become a budget for a new bike - R 16K max
I have been looking at Cyclelab, primarily as I can use a 20% discount due to my Multiply status - value for money...?
Please guide me where you can
I am looking at something with longevity, but not wanting upgrade drive trains off the bat, so the Scott Scale 965 SLX (https://www.cyclelab.com/product/scott-scale-965-slx-rs30-silver) has caught my eye (I have been trolling Forums like these to try and get the best ideas)
1.74m tall (Medium Frame), 72kg so happy to stick with a HT
Could you propose anything else that would be of value? Would look at "upgrades" later such as Dropper Posts etc.
Thanks in advance!
