  1. My girlfriend just phoned and said she is negative....
  2. So does "I have been listening to Kenny Rogers all day" go at the start or at the end of a suicide note?

    Racetec....

What are you moaning about...I am still waiting for my licence that I paid a whole 70 Seff Efrican Rondts for....
  4. The whole bunch of you are a lot of TJOPS.... Mass = Kilograms Weighed = Newtons
  5. I think that is why my bike and I get on so well....she is into the bondage thing, and likes to be tied up and locked onto my bike rack.....
  6. Cricket is played with a red ball over five days with players dressed in white.
  7. I like it, going to get mine after work, not sure if we will ever get to use them, but hopefully never.
  8. Our club is preempting any possibility by taking action. The Fat Tracks committee will be meeting and doing a brainstorming session in this week and they have been given some amazing advice by Shaun Hannie which should help protect us. I will make sure that we share this with the Hub and hopefully we can all learn from this. Everyone is welcome to send any ideas that they have, whether they be good or not to good, you never know how one could use them all.
  9. I am going to contact Shaun Hannie and see how I can get involved in initiating a safety awareness campaign from the criminal aspect as opposed to vehicle safety. Ask Megs to speak to Fat Tracks and see if they are willing to be part of this please.
  10. You may be right Gummi, but what route do we as Cyclists take? Love or hate? How do we make it end, because I sure as hell am not going to sit back and watch it happen and sit on the fence. I also never make make decisions when I am angry but we all need to come up with a defence/attack formulae to ensure our safety and to nullify any chance that the thugs out there continue to have the upper hand.
  11. I hope the Walmer bunch are going to look at this and come up with a system to protect the riders. Our Tuesday night ride out to Ladies Slipper has a buddy system where you have to know who your ride buddy is for the evening and you have to know where he/she is at all times. Not foolproof but it is a start.
  12. On Saturday morning a mate of mine from the USA who is due to depart our shores on Friday was riding with the Walmer bunch and had lagged behind on Marine Drive along the coastal road when a group of aliens jumped him knocking him off his bike, kicking his ribs in and he also has a broken elbow which will be operated on this morning. The sub-human scum got away with his RC3000 and his cell phone. Unfortunately I have no further details.
  13. It really works for me. Ever since I have been wearing it I take the garbage out and mow the lawn once a week and I have even told Mrs Spud that she doesnt need to wash my MTB anymore...I do it myself now. I am seriously thinking of painting the spare room and the study tonight...after my ride.
  14. I hope Joe doesnt mind me answering on his behalf as I see he has disapeared for the moment. The battery can be in a water bottle but what he is also doing is a bag that can be mounted to the top tube with velcro straps. I will ask Dirty Twin to post a pic of his one. The cost I am not sure of but I recall that the previous lights were going for about R5500, but don't hold me to this. Most of the group we ride with use Joe's lights and personally I do a very long Tran Baviaans and my lights last right through till 2.30 am and once until 4am.

    CSA

I went on to CSA's site and I see mine was posted to me in February...hopefully will be here soon, will check again when I get home tonight... or maybe not.
  16. Hell yes! Brand new is exactly that.......in the packaging as the guy purchased it in the first place and decided it wasnt what he wanted and was NEVER used or unpacked.
  17. I still have 10 car stickers that I got from Shaun. Anyone in the PE area need to buy then they can contact Dirty Twin or me and we will make sure we get them to you...at R50 a shot it is good value and drivers and cyclists out there will see them, lets hope and pray.
  18. He isn't wearing a helmet!
  19. I had an interesting one on the second little bump on Boyes Drive, I was about a half meter or so from the left hand curb and some Doris starts telling me to move right as she wants to come through on my left...needless to say I didnt react at all but a really kind young lady on a tandem (her partner just chuckled) climbed into her telling her what an idiot she was and let rip till she was out of sight, and yep we caught and passed her and never saw her again on Smitties.
  20. Yep! I think we all figured that out BigH, at least the rest of us seem to know what we mean and what we are doing here.
  21. The only problem is that us Mountain Bikers always wear black socks on our road bikes so that wouldnt really be seen as making a statement in that direction, this only identifies us as MTBers.
  22. Where the heck do we start looking for black armbands? I wonder if those scrunchies that kids wear in there hair would work?
  23. Are you talking about the road that goes up to the masts between Patensie and Padlangs restaurant? That is the most murderous 15km of climbing ever. Dirty Twin and I took 1 hour 48min to climb. Where do you go from there?
  24. screw that. life is extremes. right' date=' wrong. black, white. fat, thin. love, hate. short, tall. shimano, campy. compromise is death.[/quote'] Yes, you're right... no... hold on a sec... maybe not... got to say, perhaps I am ambivalent on this... we have a saying here at the paper: the editor's indecision is final That's an extreme point of view holy. You should try to be a little more, let's see, opposite of extreme? marginal? slight? SRAM? wish-washy? love the dig at sram!
