  1. Hi all, Ive been struggling a lot to find replacement hoods for my 11spd Shimano Ultegra STI shifters, with most well known bike shops telling me hoods stock is very limited and Shimano only expecting to ship new hoods to SA by next year this time… has anyone also encountered this problem… surely there is a gap in the market for some generic hoods on road bikes… not sure if anyone has a broken left Ultegra RS8000 shifter where they might sell the hood or a pair… really the 1st time I've encountered such a stock item shortage…
  2. Eagle landed Sram GX upgrade
  3. Take the Sattelite route to Harties and back, and do an extra stretch through the cradle... Works well for me
  4. Sorry... Was probably going too fast.... LOL
  5. Thanks for the info!!!!
  6. Hi fellow hubbers... I just want to find out, regarding the new MTB route in the cradle... Is it only a one way (from Kloofzight to Beyers Circle) or is it both ways traffic... The reason why I ask, is that yesterday I was doing the route to Beyers and back and some MTB'rs on my way back shouted that the route is only a one way... I find this quite strange, as I looked everywhere for signs that its a one way... I don't want to be a chop, but also, how are you supposed to get back to Kloofzight if you cant ride the same route back as the route is not a loop... I'm surely not going to challenge the roadies back on the tar... for that I rather then cycle with a road bike in the cradle...

    2012 94.7

I had a nigtmare on the road.... Was aimong for a sub 3:30, but after 5 flats, 4 new tubes, 6 bombs, 2km walk on the N14 to the waterpiont and then a "second chance" tyre, managed a 4:05... I'm not happy chappy this morning, was more frustrating than anything else... My race was over from the 30km mark, as I got my first flat and was in the leading bunch of the K group... I think it's worse when you are physically strong enough but mechanically everything just went wrong... Now worst of all, I messed up my seeding for next year as I will probably start in a later group... It's probably all part of the sport, but sjit, yesterday was awful to say the least....

  12. Hi, My GF is still urgently looking for a permanent secreterial / bookkeeping position in the West Rand / Krugersdorp area She can do accounting up to TB and have verious diplomas from Damlin / Boston and Softline Pastel If any hubbers know of anything, please drop me an e-mail - corneald@afsi.co.za Thanks
  13. I agree, no such worries in the Cradle... Just watch out for motorists and the odd angry residents putting tacks in the road... (only before the 94.7) Generally I leave from Stone Cradle... so no travelling on Hendrik Potgieter or Beyers... The route is quite well looked after and there are a lot of cyclists on the road this time of year!!

  15. I had the same problem at Cajees Retail Crossing Was looking for a indoor trainer... The sales agent got a box of a Giant Trainer with a price marked on it for R 1400.00 when I asked to check what the best price is, the computer showed that the trainer should actually be priced @ R 1800,00 They said the best price they could give me is R 1500,00, which is R 100 more than the origional marked price, they quickly pulled off the old price and repriced the lable to R 1800,00 I argued with them, and left, not buying anything.... Will never shop there again....

  23. Hi fellow cyclists. I'm puzzled. I'm a strong fit competative cyclist that trains hard, races a lot and enjoy my cycling. But for a month or so I'm struggling. A week before the 94.7 I went out for a training ride (about 80km) and I really struggled, could only manage 40km. I thought I was maybe coming down with flu, but felt ok during the pre-week to the 94.7. On the 94.7 I also had a bad ride, struggled a lot with the climbing (was training for a sub 3 and only just managed a sub4), but thougt it was just not my day. Yesterday I went out for another training ride, and I was REALLY struggeling. I've trained through winter and usually do a 80km training ride in less than 2,5 hours taking it easy. Yesterday it took me nearly 3 hours, with absolutely no power in my legs. I've gone for some blood tests, but they are clean. I'm really concerned. Maybe overtrained, I really do not know.... What do you guys think... I've heard about "dead legs" from over training, but I'm not sure. After a cycle I feel fine, but during a cycle my heartrate is also a lot higher than usually... What should I do... It really feels like my preformance has gone backwards by about a year. I'm really worried
