  1. Yes and no ... I think the builders are trying to out-do one another now ... so i wouldnt be surprised if some of the XC riders complain about some of the features ... or if they rock up with Dropper posts ... But in this instance if there is an A-line, B-Line and C-line - the option is yours ... also this is not for a Mass Participation event "per say" ... as whats the field generally at world cups? 80? maybe 100 riders? So its pretty single file most of the time ...
  2. I know ... how amazing is their work! ... my jaw dropped when i saw this stuff! ... Another league
  3. this is on the XC course
  4. then some other pics of World Trails work
  5. Ok ... so Nick set the gnar-bar here in SA with Shakas Playground .... But for 2014 I think we will be overshadowed a bit. World Trail (run by Glen Jacobs - legendary Auz trail builder) is building the Cairns XC and DH courses for the 2nd round of the World Cup after us ... And WOW .... This wall ride is on the XC Course!!!!! from their Fleisbook site - "We couldn't resist adding this iPhone photo from Evan Winton, (one of World Trail's head machine operators) hitting up the latest wall ride on the "The Crusher", part of the new 2014 World Cup XCO course in Cairns. "The Crusher" is one of 12 major "Pro A Line" sections on the XCO course which have been designed to delete precious time each lap. If a rider chooses every technical "Pro A Line", an estimated 45 seconds off each lap will be rewarded. Professional images will drop shortly of this fun course."
  6. with that frame colour i would def go all stealth black parts
  7. http://www.julianabicycles.com/ THE JULIANA RIDE Virtual Pivot PointTM (VPP) 125mm travel carbon fiber suspension frame: lightest materials & most energy efficient design GEOMETRY S M L WHEEL SIZE 27.5" 27.5" 27.5" STANDOVER 28.0 28.2 28.5 SEAT TUBE LENGTH - CENTER TO TOP 16.3 17.0 18.5 TOP TUBE 21.8 23.0 24.0 HEAD TUBE ° 68.0 68.0 68.0 SEAT TUBE ° 73.0 73.0 73.0
  8. The Juliana like I have here is a Ladies-specific geometry 5010 ... The geometry was designed by Juli Furtardo and Anka Martin. The Juliana Furtado Primero (this bike) - has 125mm rear travel - and comes stock with 130mm forks (which I have upped to 140mm) If you remember Anka Martins custom Juliana that she won Trans-Provence on this year - thats the equivalent of the Bronson, but with Ladies geo.
  9. hahahaha not that was on my DH rig - and then - Jay phones the agents ... kaks on them, so they priority ship him my new rim ... and what do they send??? A 26inch Arch EX rather than the Flow EX! ... hahahaha so back it went again! hahahaha
  10. Yeah shot ... that saddle i have on there at the moment is so stuffed! hahahaha Found it in the back of the spares box and just put it on so that the missus could at least sit on the bike. New seat should be here today or tomorrow. Like a tonsil I just got the normal Royal Mail Postage option from CRC - forgetting that it doesnt have a tracking option. So I just have to wait, with zero idea where my parts are! hahaha but has been 6 working days so far - so should be here hopefully by the end of the week
  11. It would be around R65 to R70 000 The frame alone is like R38 000
  12. Because the QR Came with the bike ... and its got Juliana insignia on. ... Then its running 3x10 as the wife wanted 3x10 because she still wanted her granny.
  13. love the Instagram edits you can do - really brings out the bikes colour ... hahah
  14. I was before as well - once a Roadie - always a Roadie ... hahahaha
  15. Its the curse of being a bike fanatic! hahaha
  16. just a question For a bike like that why dont you flog the superstars and build up a set of Hope Hubs with Arch EX? Just from a weight perspective - or you could even use the Flow EX's Im not sure of the weight of the Superstar wheels offhand - but I'd like a build like that to be light as well as strong. So I'd also go for XT cranks rather than ZEE.
  17. sounds pretty cool dude
  18. hahahaha close - but not quite - Jo's car is still worth more than the bike ... But my bank account will freak out on the 15th when i have to pay the final amount for both bikes! hahaha
  19. The Almost finished product Just waiting for the correct seat and bars. Also need to shoot to the LBS today and get the correct rear brake adapter. But otherwise shes done! Keen to get her on a scale and see what she comes in at.
  20. No ... Hairy got it wrong - his post still says that 16kg is LIGHTER than his Moto ... hahaha
  21. Yeah I know and thats with ENVE bars and Carbon Seat I can drop some weight on the seatpost too ... because thats still a full length Thomson So I think I will end up at 16 I hope
  22. GOOD MAN! Thanks
  23. Weighed the bike last night fully built and it came in at 17kg on the dot. So with light weight XT brakes rather than the saints that will drop about 200g Then the Spring - 200g Then the rotors - 100g And the bike is down to 16.5kg. SWEET
  24. YES!!!! Thats what i like to hear!
  25. ok cool I'll take my spring off tonight and weigh it so i can see what the saving will be Hope its drastic! hahahaha
