  1. on another note ... does anyone know where you can get Ti-bolts from here in SA? looking for Brake mounting bolts, and stem bolts
  2. I checked my spring last night - its def a 300lbs Dude i just checked on ti-springs ... and they seem to have the 275lbs x 3.5" ...36.6mm ID in stock? That is the one I need hey? Which one were you saying is pre-order only?
  3. so maybe my 300 will suit my riding style - hard stiff ride
  4. Thats what im worried about - and also with our tracks being flatter than a pancake and having zero roots ... I'm tending towards the stiffer end of the spectrum to compensate for the pedal-fest zones
  5. yeah that would be awesome thanks The CC website says i should run a 225 for my weight - but wow that sounds light!
  6. I think i'll do the base tune as per the CC website ... then give it a ride once i have all the parts ... then make a decision on the spring. Not keen to fork out R1500 and it be too soft or something
  7. and it feels soft already - very plush on initial stroke, but ramps up quickly - I am sitting in 17% sag at the moment with 20% on the front end
  8. ok so i did that thing about the spring rates and it said 212 for the CCDB
  9. Spring rate Calcs??? dude that is far too technical for me - I just get on and ride ... Make the bike light - and then ride it Oh and with regards to Sag ... ummm maybe the rest of KZN run epic sag ... but i tend to stick to 20% - I prefer a stiff responsive ride rather than a water bed
  10. Duxbury says that the shocks was a 10.5 x 3.5 inch
  11. Bru i have no idea of the eye to eye or stroke or what - havent looked at it yet - but Duxbury had a look yesterday and suggested a 275lbs spring
  12. rather than starting a new thread i thought i'd just dig this one up .... Does anyone know where I can get a 300lbs or 275lbs titanium spring for a Cane Creek Double Barrel from??
  13. hahahaha - TBH on i have been running a KCNC Stem on my trail bike for 2 years and its lekker ... Also have a KCNC Scandium seatpost on my hardtail - also a winner. Ran KCNC rotors on my GT Fury Downhill bike and also they were good. Its quite under-rated IMO
  14. But like Mayhem says - you NEVER sit in DH - except when you are in the start gate or at the end of the run after you have crossed the finish line. So TBH the seat and post are irrelevant on an DH bike and are just there for stability and not for sitting. So the lighter the better Thats why i have a Syncros Carbon Rail Seat on there - lightest i could get at a decent price
  15. well Jason at Leighs is going to rebuild the rear with the new Flow EX - he just needs to order it this week for me
  16. I puzzled over that one for a while - no one noticed until i took the pic! hahaha The Flow has been discontinued, and replaced by the Flow EX - the profile and width is different, but its very hard to spot. Obviously the distributors still had a flow or 2 in stock and didnt look, merrily shipping the 2 as the same thing ... The LBS also didnt look and merrily built them up as they both said flow ... I took delivery and also didnt notice until i had loaded them onto the bike., hahahaha
  17. Nope tyres are the right way around Try again
  18. and so the almost finished product I pinched the avid rotors off my wet weather wheelset just to finish the build But couple of small issues Can anyone notice something wrong? I'll give you a hint, look at the wheels. Didnt even notice it till i took this pic - hahaha even the LBS missed it ... hahaha Also the rotor off my wet wheels is a 185mm but the brake adaptor is a 180mm so needed to spacer it which is not ideal. Then I have decided to dump the saint brakes and put on the new XT's with Icetech rotors as they are just as powerful but will shave about 250g of weight. Then also dumping the Thomson seatpost for a lightweight KCNC Scandium to save 100g. And will likely swop out the shock spring for a Titanium one to save another 300g.
  19. Groupset should arrive this coming week along with the saddle and front tyre for the 650b wheel Then shes ready to rock
  20. the ladies specific saddle that is on its way from CRC as I type! http://spokemagazine.com/files/2013/03/allure-orange-632x421.jpg
  21. just waiting for my disc rotors to come in and then shes ready to go So will have one last outing on the GT this weekend before i take her forks off and load them up onto the Devinci next week when the rotors arrive
  22. I must just give a BIG shout out to Jason at Leighs Cycle Centre in the Pavillion for hooking me up with most of the stuff. He organised a great deal on my Wheels, Bar, Stem, Seat and Saint Parts! Thanks bud - I owe you big time.
