  1. Yes they do - but ... 1. - you can fit more bikes in this way 2. - you dont need to take the wheels off 3. - a lot of bikes are now coming out with either 15mm or 20mm thru-axle front forks that dont fit the conventional quick release brackets. 4. - you dont need to loosen the stem to turn the bars to fit in more that 3 bikes as the wheel is turned over the tailgate already 5. - you dont need to custom make a bracket for the back of your bakkie - here you just strap the mat onto the trailgate and off you go Id like to see you fit 5 bikes comfortably on your car roof. .... oh and i can also drive in under those height restriction barriers ... cars with bikes on the roof cant ... seen it happen at the Pavillion ... not pretty when its a brand new bike and it hits the height restriction barrier.
  2. hahahaha id like to see you try!! you will be there a while!!
  3. very cool!
  4. hahahaha what a tool i am - but then again the Devinci was delivered to my door at work ... so thought CRC would do the same. Anyway ... off i go to the postoffice! hahaha
  5. i think i'll just have to go to the postoffice and ask.
  6. hmmm theres a cockup - .... we dont have a postbox!!
  7. hmmm thats what i was thinking may happen. better go and check our postbox downstairs (if we even have one)
  8. Okes ... quick one .... I have some bits and bobs coming from CRC and like a complete tosser I forgot to get the shipping that has a tracking number ... From the CRC website it says the parcels take 8 working days or so (which is today) ... But now ... I have always shipped with mates etc - never to myself So i have my work address as the billing and delivery address, ... So do i just wait for the package to be delivered at our offices? Do you then pay the courier directly for the excess (VAT)... and then also - any idea what would happen if no one is in the office when these characters try to deliver?? (I ask as we are having our staff party on Wed - and i can see that knowing my luck they will try and deliver then)
  9. and some more of the A-line obstacles looks like a big bmx track
  10. Rodeo Drop on the Cairns XC course - I think a couple of dropper posts will be on order soon
  11. Thats why you have this 2 locks and a cable with a rubber covering
  12. I mentioned earlier that at retail it would be around 65 to 70k ...
  13. Hey guys and gals If you are looking for a tail gate mat for your bakkie ISLAND STYLE have started making them ... they are special order at the moment, but they are looking at going into production if i understand it correctly. If you are keen on one - contact Warren Wearing 0 eight three 77 six 4 six 33 Its very cool - full on neoprene covers for the tiedown straps - individual velcro/neoprene bike straps and tons of padding
  14. Yeah I agree dude - a beer stand right there would be amazing. hahahaha I think the builders are trying too hard to be too way out these days instead of designing the course to keep the racing tight! ... SO i agree with you in most parts. Lucky I dont have that problem with my DH course ... try as i may ... it will never be difficult enough! hahaha
  15. Yes and no ... I think the builders are trying to out-do one another now ... so i wouldnt be surprised if some of the XC riders complain about some of the features ... or if they rock up with Dropper posts ... But in this instance if there is an A-line, B-Line and C-line - the option is yours ... also this is not for a Mass Participation event "per say" ... as whats the field generally at world cups? 80? maybe 100 riders? So its pretty single file most of the time ...
  16. I know ... how amazing is their work! ... my jaw dropped when i saw this stuff! ... Another league
  17. this is on the XC course
  18. then some other pics of World Trails work
  19. Ok ... so Nick set the gnar-bar here in SA with Shakas Playground .... But for 2014 I think we will be overshadowed a bit. World Trail (run by Glen Jacobs - legendary Auz trail builder) is building the Cairns XC and DH courses for the 2nd round of the World Cup after us ... And WOW .... This wall ride is on the XC Course!!!!! from their Fleisbook site - "We couldn't resist adding this iPhone photo from Evan Winton, (one of World Trail's head machine operators) hitting up the latest wall ride on the "The Crusher", part of the new 2014 World Cup XCO course in Cairns. "The Crusher" is one of 12 major "Pro A Line" sections on the XCO course which have been designed to delete precious time each lap. If a rider chooses every technical "Pro A Line", an estimated 45 seconds off each lap will be rewarded. Professional images will drop shortly of this fun course."
  20. with that frame colour i would def go all stealth black parts
  21. http://www.julianabicycles.com/ THE JULIANA RIDE Virtual Pivot PointTM (VPP) 125mm travel carbon fiber suspension frame: lightest materials & most energy efficient design GEOMETRY S M L WHEEL SIZE 27.5" 27.5" 27.5" STANDOVER 28.0 28.2 28.5 SEAT TUBE LENGTH - CENTER TO TOP 16.3 17.0 18.5 TOP TUBE 21.8 23.0 24.0 HEAD TUBE ° 68.0 68.0 68.0 SEAT TUBE ° 73.0 73.0 73.0
  22. The Juliana like I have here is a Ladies-specific geometry 5010 ... The geometry was designed by Juli Furtardo and Anka Martin. The Juliana Furtado Primero (this bike) - has 125mm rear travel - and comes stock with 130mm forks (which I have upped to 140mm) If you remember Anka Martins custom Juliana that she won Trans-Provence on this year - thats the equivalent of the Bronson, but with Ladies geo.
  23. hahahaha not that was on my DH rig - and then - Jay phones the agents ... kaks on them, so they priority ship him my new rim ... and what do they send??? A 26inch Arch EX rather than the Flow EX! ... hahahaha so back it went again! hahahaha
  24. Yeah shot ... that saddle i have on there at the moment is so stuffed! hahahaha Found it in the back of the spares box and just put it on so that the missus could at least sit on the bike. New seat should be here today or tomorrow. Like a tonsil I just got the normal Royal Mail Postage option from CRC - forgetting that it doesnt have a tracking option. So I just have to wait, with zero idea where my parts are! hahaha but has been 6 working days so far - so should be here hopefully by the end of the week
  25. It would be around R65 to R70 000 The frame alone is like R38 000
