  1. It would appear ( if I understand what Carmichael and Burke say) that wattage per say is an added and beneficial tool. It does not replace heart rate measurement but should rather be used in conjuction with it.
  2. so the question is: if i for example do this 60 min interval and i make my heart rate zone upper and lower limits 5 beats apart, are you now not eliminating the 'drift' you are talking about? the known guru(s) in the cycling world state that in as much you are feeling ok, but your resting pulse is up + 10 beats, you are still able to ride at those watts but would it be beneficial? wattage is uncomprimising and unforgiving, and doesn't take your body's response (health) into consideration.
  3. i would love SRM... you can't tell me that if you have to do an E2 ride at say 250 watts that its not the same as doing and aerobic endurance ride between those same HR limits...
  4. well luckily thats why i'm doing the test on this thing to find out then report back to you guys too... but still think HR is just as good as power when it comes to training
  5. sounds good. very keen to try it actually. don't see why it wouldn't work. i also heard Polar has updated their power meter to wireless. could take out some of the problems.
  6. R27000????????!!!!!!!!!! anybody wanna sponsor me a SRM?
  7. that formula os for the avg person who doesn't exercise. you must do a test like the one you did to determine your max then work for there. i know guys in the elite bunch who's max HR is 180 while others is 210
  8. ja i hear thats the *** part...
  9. i know but a bike shop has asked me to be there independant tester. and before i go using it i just want to get some idea of what you guys think of it? is the bunch riding thing such a big problem, etc.
  10. Is it any good? heard you can't use it in a bunch and stuff like that?
  11. What do you guys think of the iBike? been given one to test...
  12. So true... but did you know that if lance didn't get epo treatment he would never have survived his chemo. it's the common practice in hospitals to give chemo patients epo to boost their immune systems
  13. riding on the rollers is like riding on a slight downhill all the time. if you drop gears you don't get extra resistance cos the rollers just pic up their pace and off you go. how do you do LT sessions on your roller?
  14. I want!!! those radars are awesome!
