I can relate about the cold mornings - it seems living here in ZA never quite prepares you for winter regardless of how "moderate" it is considered when contrasted with the Northern Hemisphere. BTW: My record coldest was -14 (with snow - had to walk some parts) and probably around 3 degrees colder with wind chill. (Netherlands) Had multiple layers of thermal clothing on - it all kinda stops being a problem when you numb...
