with just over 700km of pure off road, i'd say they just as good as my 26er reba race.. also at a shade over 2k i can't find fault at all, an excellent piece of kit.

  6. Sidi. a little on a expensive side but worth it in the long run, the mtb versions are easy to clean and dry fast. But shoes are like saddles, not a one fit's all story..
  7. i agree, FF gloves hide blood and skinless fingers when you misjudge trees + width of bars and make a "tree pinky finger bar sandwich" when flying down singletrack!! note to self trim bars down to 690mm..
  8. what i REALLY love is the chain line and lack of STUFF gazza2009-06-15 13:33:45
  9. + 1 for rohloff, I'm lovin mine more and more everyday !! one of the best cycling purchases I've made in years... if only I'd woken up sooner, to think of the ton's of cash spent on drivechain components over the years. check out thier website, www.rohloff.de
  10. very nice indeed, congrats - many happy thousands of km's !
  11. donate some (old or new) blankets and clothes to those in need...
  12. Good questions, To the best of my knowledge the long loop around koeberg (start at lower car park > to melkbos gate > and all the way around > finish at car park) is ?28 k's, which makes sense because flat out I can finish in 55 min's. Also it's 28 k on my 26er with the same palor (set as a 26inch mtb) I'll measure the point to point wheel rev again.
  13. howdy technical guru's I just finished building my new ride, a 29er, and fitted my trusty polar S520. The manual said to measure one complete rev and measure point to point less 4 mm, this should be the figure setting entered. My first ride out was my normal quick koeberg sprint which measures ?28.5 to where I start and finish, however with my new 29er setting of 2895mm it was a ?23km ride and thinking about it, I was riding quite slow too ~ so the setting is well out... how do I set this properly? thanks...
  14. +1 for DD's hand build wheels !!! I also like his little rim stickers (DT-Swiss: hand build by Dangerous Doug..)

  22. I purchased a few bits from CRC two weeks ago and the box arrived (via the free post option) a week later and delivered to my door by Cape Mail (extra bonus) **BUT** the box had been opened and searched by SARS CUSTOMS and re-sealed with CUSTOMS tape. Nothing was missing, but every item had been opened and removed from it's sealed package. This is a first in as many orders in the last 10 years... CUSTOMS stepping up efforts..
  23. any one riding with Rohloff's ?
