Anybody rate the Suunto watches??, I need to purchase a new HRM as my Polar was 'redistributed' and was wanting to try out the Suunto..

Ja, everything was fine until the run.. I was pretty dehydrated and needed fuel, but couldn't eat much as there wasn't anything to wash it down with, an dmy mouth was as dry as the morning after a case of beers!! So ja, first lap a real mission, second lap was much better as was able to re-hydrate myself.. Got to the last water table and the guys there just looked at us (with no fill cups on the table), so we started pouring our own water.. They said they were tired because they had been pouring for so long!! Clearly a long day out for everyone... K-Swiss and Future Life need to up their sponsorship so they can get more water next year! If they could close the roads for the bike that would also be a bonus... Just glad I finished though!

My first worry would be the barble getting hold of me and dragging me under!! I've seen those things from the other side when feeding the geese and they give me the creeps..

I also have FutureLife.. I see they have come out with a chocolate flavour, which I'm going to try next.. I also throw in a glass of Enduroshake, which is a locally (joburg) produced product I think, and claims it will sustain you for 4hrs.. Not 100% sold on that claim, but take it anyway as every little bit helps

I would have also swum like a bullet if I didn't have a wetsuite, to get out that water asap!! Between all the arms and legs in my face, I think I saw him pass me!! Funniest thing I saw was when I swam into a guy (between the 1st and 2nd buoy) going perpendicular to me!! I had a double check and I was going in the right direction... He was heading out to sea!! (and then proceeded to take another gulp of water as I had a chuckle!)

I agree... The photos weren't the greatest in any event!! The only one that I would look at is the one with official Ironman branded frame with the time, etc, but again, silly prices!! Fortunately had a mate from Lifestruck who took photos which I can use and create my own branded frame!!

If those guys on the TDF aren't doping, imagine what they could do if they were allowed to take ****?? They should have an unofficial TDF where doping is allowed and see what times they get and then compare with the past times... Either way, those guys are machines!

I'm looking at purchasing a bike from overseas, because even with the additional taxes and duties, etc, it is still considerably cheaper than purchasing here.. My problem is ensuring that the bike is genuine.. How do you check if the bike is the genuine product and not a rip-off with a brand name sticker on it?
