My accident was the 24 Aug 2015, broken collar bone and fractured shoulder blade. Doc is happy all is good, happy to take the plate out which I plan to do on the 5th May, which will be just over 8months I plan on taking it out as I would rather have the collar bone break again, than who knows what else. I was more curious as I've hear many people choose not to take it out

Ok, so clearly there is enough experience here with broken collar bones Out of interest, how many of you who have had a plate inserted have had it taken out again. My doc advised me that its a safer option if I want to get back on the bike, as it would allow for the collar bone to break again should I fall

Thanks guys. I got a plate on the collar bone, so thats fine, its the shoulder blade thats taking its time. Sadly with the plate in it is strongly advised not to ride as a fall would the shatter the the shoulder, so that will need to come out in about 6months, so its gonna be alot of spinning for me till then

Awesoem race, did the 50km. Only little gripe I have was the start, there was no clear indication for cyclists to keep right and go into the start pens. As a results there were lots of guys going down the road into on coming motorists, even saw some chop smack a taxi side mirror, not sure why as he was in the wrong place(although on his behalf there was no signage to say that) Marshalls should have forced guys out of that road if there were using it to let traffic through

Shew 34km/h, definitely not strong enough for that yet. Will join next week and hope for the best. Can anyone post a garmin link, then I will just follow it on my garmin

I have just purchased a road bike for the 94.7(well not only) Took it for a first spin this weekend round the Cradle, shaved about 35min off my 70km time. My wrists feel it the most as the position is very different. I think you'd be fine to use the bike for the first time at 94.7. But I'd try get in a quick ride during the week, even 10km just to make sure everything is working 100%

Does anyone know if you can park at the Rhino and Lion park? Don't really feel like going through the pain of now paying at Riverstone.
