  1. There is a second entrance to that area of the trail. I used it when they putbarbed wire in the entrance. When you are heading up the slight incline parallel to the runway there is a small park in between the houses with a gate. Definitely adds more road to the ride which isn't ideal.
  2. I know from experience that the peak is really good at keeping rain and sprayed up water/mud out of yer face.
  3. The motorbike idea is great, that way you can't overspend because you can't carry much.
  4. I'm just not a fan of Giant. If they are both made up of the same components, start looking at weight and then which one looks better :-)
  5. Recently I've been experiencing a couple of issues with my rear wheel on my mtb. Firstly it started off with some gear issues, it is not as sharp and sometimes pulls the chain off the front. Then my rear brakes (hydraulic) started squeaking, insanely loud. I just assumed there was some residue on the disc. However I was out on a ride when my cycling buddy noticed my back wheel was wobbling side to side slightly as a ride. The wheel isn't loose so I might have done some damage to the rim at some point. Anyone else experienced this? Is it something I could fix on my own or is this another lbs visit? And how big is the possibility that I may need a new rim?
  6. I think your problem is that you should be pedalling not paddling
  7. Yeah it does seem like a good price, I suppose it also gets rid of the hassle of trying to pay when you are there. Anybody been to the park? I haven't had a chance, is it any good?
  8. Not sure if anybody else has seen this, seems like a great deal. Just checked the MTN MTB park website and a once off visit costs R50. http://www.collectivecow.com/jhb/deals/entry/enjoy_a_ten_day_pass_to_the_exciting_and_safe_mtn_cycle_park_for_only_r150_/
  9. Do any of you use any special cleaning agents on your saddles? I have (had) a white saddle and the mud that has collected on it has left it looking a tad brown once washed off. Any ideas on how I can get it white again, or is permanently beige?
  10. Ok that's cool then, any body know who I can speak to, to get a proper medal. jmaccelari I don't ride for the medal, but I like to have the medal for the right race. I put my times on the back of the medals and I'm not going to use the KZN expedition medal
  11. Am I the only one who received a medal for the KZN expedition at the Emperors race. If everybody got these I think it's quite poor, paying an entry fee for recycled medals.

  13. This makes me so much happier with my time, I did the marshy bit, and was a bit concerned with the difference between myself and the winner.
