    ISM Saddle

Hi guys I have some questions about the ISM saddle. I tried to search if the topic already exists, but could not find anything. So, to all other athletes that use the ISM saddle : Firstly - the best saddle EVER! Rides has become so much better if you actually have to concentrate on the pain in your legs only instead of saddle issues. My question is regards to the pelvic rotation the saddle gives. Have any of you found a lack of power at maximum 4-5min effort on the saddle compared to a "normal" saddle? I have read all the reviews about the saddle - pros and cons. I could not find anything where they spoke about the actual pelvis tilt and the impact. Any advise, ideas, reviews are welcome. Stay safe
  2. Thank you guys so much!! It was one hell of a effort! That was the Western Cape record that was set up by Erica Green in 1995 on the Bellvile track. I have a massive opportunity to break the National record at World Championships in France. 4:51 (2003) I'm really excited to go for the National record. It is something that I was looking at sinceend of last year. I gave myself until end of this year to break it... hehe - well guess I'm surprising myself. Pursuit is not something I've been working on for long. In fact, its been 11months now. When I got a coach (ServizioCorse Athlete Development-look'em up) my pursuit time went down by 27seconds in 11months. For those of you who dont know track, even 5seconds is a lot. Pursuit is very much a mental thing as well. I'm grateful for the mental strength I got to "train" the last year as well. Eish...now I'm blabbing a long here... Bottom line - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT!! It really means a lot to me! Cheers for now Maroesjka
  3. Howzit guys!!✌ I want to invite ya'all to come watch some track racing tonight at the Bellville Velodrome. It will be the 1st Jeanne Nel Memorial Cup race. It is sadly a year tomorrow when Jeanné's tragic accident happened on the track. I will be going for a record attempt in the 3km Individual Pursuit. The record is 20years old held by Erica Green. Racing starts at 7pm. I am first up to race... entry is free. Bring a beer along with you or buy a coke You also might just bump into a certain ultimate hubbber that causes grown man to cry. ;)
  4. Mmmmm, interesting And so coooool! Would be awesome to meet and have a chat with you! Will send you a message for planning MM
  5. Thanks so much Wayne!! Your selflessness is something we all can learn from! Thanks a million! ! Maroesjka
  6. Hey guys!! Going into the race for the weekend, I had so much peace of mind for worlds. I'm not really a person to stress a lot about things, but somehow I was stressing a lot about Wolrds, and I really didn't think I was going to go. Financially it is just out of my reach...or so I thought - until you guys came a long We got the estimated budget for the trip. It is R23,000. UCI won't be covering the accommodation or transport. Bit of a bummer, but we'll take it as it comes. Winning the herald meant so much for me - a lot for my self confidence and much more for my name that's out there now for road racing. I'm not "just" the trackie anymore. Thanks a lot for all your support. Thanks for the donations so far. HUB FUND : R2550. Will go through my bank statements to check if I missed anything. :) Fire
  7. Thanks guys yes I will be doing most of the big road races and some up country racing if budget allows It's been incredibly overwhelming winning this race and I would hope to work on becoming a better road cyclist for more of this type of results.
  8. Oh, guys... I don't want to bad mouth CSA. They are trying their best to get funds through different avenues. However if it comes through it won't be available before the trip. I know the tune we hear from them is always the same...we don't have money. And sometimes we don't agree(okay, 90% of the time) of what they do, but hey...it's the situation we are in currently in SA.
  9. my shattered nerves! Wayne, I sent you a email - I hope it's still the same... Incredible. There's very good folks in this world!! #Legend
  10. Thanks so much George!! The best optometrists in the business Picked up my lenses yesterday- what a surprise!
  11. Hellloooooooo Ladies! Errr, I mean hubbers.. hehe First of all - Thank you, tsure youu, thank you!! After a very good performance at African Continental Championships I was very surprised to be allocated a spot to race the Points and Scratch at World Champs. According to my knowledge I thought the only way to get into the World Champs was through qualifying through World Cups. I was planning to do the world cups, but things didn't quite work out there. I was very disappointed not getting to go to the World Cup - but such is life and you deal with it and work harder to prove everyone wrong. There's a lot of reasonable explanations that I didn't get to go, but at the end of the day I just wanted(still wanting) exposure at that racing level. Like I have said numerous times before - in South Africa we don't get that level of racing. No matter how hard you train, and the prep you put in, in order to get better you have to race at that level. And not once or twice, but repeatedly. I feel very grateful for this opportunity that I can go to Worlds. It will be such a good learning curve. I know you will get the critics out there that will say Worlds is not there to learn, but to win. Yes, that is true if you have competed against the opposition like a 100 times before champs. This will be for me a total learning experience. I will give my everything no doubt about that. I believe in my form at the moment, and with so many people behind me I'm extremely positive for a good result we are still waiting on final costs for this trip, I will let you guys know. Also, I will post the fund amount that I receive from you guys. There's 3 people from South Africa going to worlds, if I have any money from donations that is more than my expenses, I would pass that onto them The last time you guys made the trip to the states possible, it was life changing! From that trip I excelled so much and gained so much confidence. After every trip I will just get better and better. Thanks for making this trip possible, again. I'm really grateful, and I will do my best not to disappoint. I will keep you guys updated with everything! ! Blessings Much love Fire
  12. Hehe Thanks guys!! Much appreciated! All your support means so much to me! Very blessed. This African Continental Championships was really something special, not only to us as South Africans - more importantly to the continent! There is some change happening in Africa, and I'm very happy that track cycling can be part of that change!
  13. Hey guys!! Trust you all are keeping fit, and not fat ... hehe Here's my latest blog insert http://www.maroesjka.co.za/BlogAug2014.html Have a read, I hope you enjoy it. If any of you know someone on the inside of a big/small/willing company, please let me know. Please come support us this weekend on the track! Unfortunately not a lot of Ladies entered, but I'll give my best entertainment for the crowd. Cheers guys Fire
  14. Thanks for the concers guys. It was myself and Bianca. It happened so flippen fast.! We were aware of the muggings going on there, so tried to be on the look out. It was just so fast. It was the most awful feeling not stopping immediately with Bianca, but new that if I'd stop they will just grab me, so went into the road and stopped a car. Luckily Bianca had such a cool head on her and offer her phone when they grabbed her. At that time they probably saw the car that stopped and just took the phone and ran away. We can be very grateful, but at the same time, WHY should we be victims to this!! What if there is a life lost??? Then the media would be quick to put it on the front page of newspapers. Why should it only be then? We have to stop this!!!
  15. We are slowly but surely getting some exposre... Please tune in/record/rewind/ffw.. whatever the case to Chanel 263 (CTV) this evening at 21:00. Myself, Carl Bonthuys, Theuns van der Bank and Evan Carstens were interviewed for the sports show that they broadcast. Vuurtjie
