  1. Hi guys, I had the same problem, and after replacing the pedals, then BB, then free body, I found the solution and could kick myself for spending the money! Hope this will also help for you: Here it is - TIGHTEN YOUR REAR DERAILEUR HANGER!!! Simple as that! The 2 little allen-cap screws. As you pedal hard (like on a hill) it shifts under tension and slip back again causing cracking noise...
  2. After much consideration, I bought the H7 headlamp, 170 lumens, 117grams & 180m light with adj intensity and focus! Now I can also use it for fishing, braais, camping as well!! I'm happy!

    Glue

Maybe PVC weld? Never tried on nylon...
  4. That's exactly it! Thx, so I was not too far off? I'm downloading a service manual for it now, seems quite easy to replace oil... But I will keep Johan in mind
  5. Air (Super Air), sounds like the damping side though...
  6. Ja, that is probably a better description of the sound!? So this is normal? I ride off-road bikes and never heard this before, but that is an upside down fork...
  7. Anybody? Would greatly appreciate any advice
  8. Hi Hubbers, I've done a search on this and could not find anything... I'm quite new to the sport, bought a 2nd hand Merida HFS 3000 with Manitou Black Super air 80mm on 5-12-2010. The bike is in very good condition, but the only thing bothering me is when you compress the fork and let it up quickly (or pop a wheelie B) ), the fork squeals as it return. Sounds to me like air/foaming in the oil rushing through the valves... but it will do the same even after standing for a while to settle foaming if it is that? Is this a sign of oil level too low or is this normal? Thx
  9. If it's working, it hasn't got enough features - Engineering philosophy
  10. What does UST stand for? (Know what it is...)
  11. Had a similar incident with Bruce Reynecke in PTA, actually it's ongoing! hopfully getting the bike today. NOTHING that I took it in for was done, BB play, rear wheel play, rear brake rub - All exactly the same after service and the guy had the ignorance to tell me there is no play before I showed him. WTF?? I'm spending my money on tools in future rather that bike service as it is not rocket science, just need the tools!!
  12. One of the main functions of RD is to absorb chain slap, so movement is good! (like a shock absorber, no use if it don't move...)
  13. To come to Cajees defense: 1) I went to Boksburg Cajees first where I browsed for a 29er, I had to help myself around even though nobody else was in the shop and the Durban okes were checking me from behind the counter with a faak you face. Anyway, the price on a Scott Scale 29 Team was R15000. 2) A week later I was at Sportmans warehouse in Centurion and saw another Cajees store there... With zero expectation of any service, I walked in and got the best advice and service + discount without even asking!! The EXACT same bike for R10500!! So Cajees Boksburg, thx for not trying to sell me a bike!
