  1. Ya. Not talking about the limit screws but the cable tension adjustment itself. My RD has one adjuster on the cable "shoulder" of its bracket, if you know what I mean. Without the inline, there would be none (apparently...) for the FD! Can't be, surely?
  2. I have no adjuster directly on my FD. (Shimano 105). The inline adjusters just spin on their ferrules - no extension... Man. This is not a smart idea. Is there a way around this..?! Really appreciate some advice!
  3. 77.3 kg. Back on the thinwardly path. Nice salad back there Chris.
  4. Sure! We're a mixed group of 3-4 normally riding on most Sundays at 8''ish, also mixed fitness so we take it easy. (I note your posts about Trans Baviaans etc...!!) And we also explore, more than actually know all the routes around there very well. But it doesn't seem like one can really go too wrong. There are several other spots around Stellies too - not familiar with them yet. Others here will most likely be!
  5. Jonkershoek. Scrunching gravel on the way up [that alone is worth hearing], chatting to friends, avoiding friendly fire from the opposite direction. Stop at the top. Silence.... Just birds. No cars, no air-conditioners. Its not often during the week I can hear that. Earphones good for work blocks out some of the "please just quickly analyse this" and can actually get to work though my plans.
  6. Very nice upgrade to The Hub! Easy to browse, looks great. Thanks!!
  7. Anyway, be interesting to see what turns up. Thanks guys. Fortunately there is no rush right now that I have access to my buddy's spare bike. Phew.
  8. Lol. Yupp. Seems a common problem. I do really like the hard-core racing bikes, but its just not the kind of riding I am doing (judging by my mtbs), or will be doing on the road. Been looking at the CAAD8 as a possible alternative, but my heart is set on the Synapse. [although I've not yet ridden either......] In my normal environment I have an old Giant ATX 850, and a beaut Merida 120. Besides the suspension, the 120 is so much less effort to ride. The Giant is edgy, and that is nice sometimes, but on the whole I like a bit of comfort and stability.
  9. I need to get properly measured, but the LBS guys recon a 54. (I'm 176cm, with fairly standard proportions). Somerset West. I'd like to buy through my LBS for reasons of backup service etc, so not so much ultra-keen on private deals for that reason. But if my LBS can get stock from somewhere I will follow up, and push them in the right direction....
  10. Want one (alu, 105) very much. Right now, apparently, there is NOT ONE of these available in a shop in SA?! Several LBS's info is "wait until October for the 2012 model". What to do? Who to blame? Eesh! Fortunately have a great friend at work who has a spare road bike he has very kindly offered to loan me until October or needed back. Many thanks dude!!
  11. 78.4 kg. Oi! Time to start heading south again now.
  12. Looks great! Maybe one comment - not so sure I like the green prices overlaid on the photos on the opening page. Looks a bit cluttered. Just my opinion - others may differ
  13. Truth time. 79.8 kg. Yeehaa, first time below 80 in over six years!
  14. OK - this is my experiment for now: blindly going by the numbers to see what happens. No wonder this is hard - the last few kgs. Very quickish gym this morning - 200 odd kcal, and a 1 hour ride tonight - 850 or so kcal. The daily chomp calc updated is hovering around the 400 kcal deficit. And I'm getting the late night nibblies. Jeez, if I didn't ride I'd starve in order to try and maintain the 500 kcal negative balance..................!
  15. If we only enter our own Monday numbers, then Google docs should be able to merge the edits without any conflicts, and we save Whiskers the work.
