What is the cut-off time at Smits? I told my wife and and youngest son they just have to focus on making that cut with the wind from the front. From there it should be better. It will be their first Argus, and they start just before 10.

My son was hoping for a 3h15 from 1J, but with this wind and weighing only 58kg on a CF bike, it will be a tough ask. I think he will do well coming in under 3h30, unless he finds some big riders to hide amongst.

That granite slab was damn treacherous. I walked the line with a lesser skilled young rider on Friday. Take it too high, and you were destined to slide on the loose gravel. Take it too low, and it would force you off line for the next few rocks. You had to take it in a very narrow line to line you up correctly.
