  1. You know I do. I watched E08, and afterwards thought WTF did I just saw. It was weird, even for Lynch. Thoroughly enjoyed the NIN scene, even though I am not a NIN fan. The way the singer looked as if he was laughing reminded me of Bob.
  2. The issue is e-riders that don't have the downhill skill mixing it with the other riders with skill. Can't see the organisers letting the e-riders go on route before the other normal batches. That will be even more problematic.
  3. From what I can see they will share the same routes. Also, now how do you police a rider riding an e-bike in a normal category? I can only see tears coming. This thread will be interesting come Sunday and Monday.
  4. Just keep your eyes open. As mentioned before, the other day by chance I walked into a pawn shop and picked up a used Stanley Bailey No 5 in well looked after condition with a spare blade wrapped in paper and Eclipse honing guide all in an old banking bag. All for R290 if I recall correctly. Not one spot of rust on it, just a nice patina.
  5. Some more shouting Myles's way...
  6. When you enter online and have to select the categories for your race.
  7. I see there are E-Bike categories also. This will get interesting.
  8. BTW, I see that BPM now stocks Lie Nielsen also. https://www.toolcraft.co.za/collections/lie-nielsen/products/lie-nielsen-no-4-1-2-smooth-plane?variant=41197263310 Send this link to your wives for Christmas shopping.
  9. Thx Jimmy. Was gonna ask where you get them. Have not seen them yet where I shop for tools (Apple or BPM Toolcraft)
  10. The problem with Forstner bits is that they overheat easily, and can have a tendency to drift.
  11. Yes, looks like American or Black Walnut to me also. Especially with that purple hue.
  12. I bought treated pine from Somerset Timbers last year. When I bought it, it was wet. Some of the wood is now unusable, unless you want to make a giant boomerang.
  13. Attention to detail is severely lacking in South Africa with regards to craftsmanship. How many times have I had people working in my house, only to realise I would be able to do it better, if only I had the time. South African craftsmen need to visit Japan just once in their lives to see what the pursuit of perfection looks like.
  14. Glad to firstly report that Mika and Rudolph are now friends, and Mika is quite a naughty doggie. I twice had to run after her after she took a gap with an open gate.
  15. I've been avoiding this thread like the plague lately, cause I will just lose it and say nasty stuff. But now I just need this off my chest. The Proteas are in a bad place at the moment, and I think it is just going to get worse from here on. Why do they keep hangin on to players that do not perform match after match after match?
  16. Mini Savage and his boet busy with hill training at the Pump Station climb.
  17. No TV for us tonight. Today my TV's HDMI processing circuitry decided to stop working. Tomorrow will see if I still have my RGB cables lying about, and reroute output from my AV amp. Cruds.
  18. Yes, I forgot about Rhule. We will see where the real weak points on defence is when we play the ABs. My issue on Jantjies defence is not about his tackling technique, but the fact that he gets bamboozled regularly by the opposing team's strategy, and is easily caught out of position. He has a tendency to shoot up too fast.
  19. For fans of Twin Peaks weirdness and those who despise the boring repetitiveness of mainstream commercial crap.
  20. I still see glaring problems in our backline. For one, there are still too many forwards involved in our backline play. Even Kobus Wiese commented on that, which is a surprising comment coming from a previous forward. The Kiwis will make use of that and will run into the gaps where the forwards are. I expect the Kiwis to put at least 40 points more on the scoreboard than us. The current French team is a shadow of the French team of 2 years ago. But at least we have a much better hooker than last year. I am not convinced about the defensive abilities of Jantjies and Skosaan. And Beast is way to old now.
  21. I watched the first half, then rather went to paint the garage walls inside. Rugby on both sides were sub-par. Looked at times like 2 East Rand club sides playing each other. Attendance were poor also.
  22. Thank heavens I did not watch this. I would have had to explain the broken TV screen to the wife and in-sewer-ants.
  23. I am trying to get enough guts to go out into this cold and miserable weather for an afternoon ride. Maybe I will just play around at Southies.
  24. Heartbreak Hill, as you come out of the top Bikini Beach climb. Helderberg Farm, red and black route.
  25. I hate that hill. Can never ride the very last bit.
