  1. Really? I have a set of Elixir 1s that you or another fan of these can have for free. I took them off my one son's bike and replaced with SLX. They are sitting here in a box getting old.
  2. Myles, since when are you an SRAM fanboy? Anybody that needs more stopping power than XT needs to drop some weight.
  3. Off course he has a roady. Cannondale SuperSix, bought on this here hub for a song second-hand.
  4. Little Mika is causing consternation amongst my 2 cats. But at least Rudolph is starting to accept her. But we are not there yet where I can leave her with him in the back yard for too long.
  5. I still have some of my skin left on one of those table top jumps. I think it is the one next to a tree just after some sets of big berms.
  6. Thanks. Will do so. He can do better, much better if he puts his mind to it. Phillip (PhillipV on this forum) has sat down with him explaining him how he must structure his training, as currently he just does what he thinks he need to do, and only trains 2 - 3 times a week. Phillip did it all out of his own time and did not ask me a cent for it. Phillip used to be a full time coach.
  7. I saw how Carl out sprinted Donovan to the line to take second from the tech zone at the top. My son in his Pure Savage kit which he says is the best kit he has ever ridden in.
  8. I have Season 1 and most of Season 2 on DVD....
  9. That is how Lynch likes it. He said way back then that he does not like to spoon feed the audience. They have to go through a journey watching and try to make up their own minds. Which is why he was upset when ABC forced him to change his script to identify Laura's killer. His original idea was that it was never going to be revealed, and that the core of story was never about who killed her, but rather the circumstances around her death.
  10. These buggers are excellent escape artists. Ask me how I know. I had to fetch our rabbit numerous times from someone in the neighbourhood. Ours passed away last month from the Calicivirus. By the time that I figured out something was wrong with her, it was too late.
  11. Meet Mika, our new family member. But dammit, I am stressed as our mature Swiss Shepherd, Rudolph, just want to chew her. So for now she stays indoors until I can figure out how to get them used to each other.
  12. I would have loved it to be, but we could not find a female pup there that was not older than 9 weeks. And for Rudolph to adopt a new member into his pack and form a bond with, we thought it prudent that the new member not be an older pup that he would refuse to accept. But there are some lovely dogs up for adoption on Husky Rescue. I will post pics next week as soon as the new lady is in the house.
  13. Just to report back that we have found a buddy for Rudolph, our Swiss Shepherd. She is a Siberian Husky, and we will be picking her up this weekend. :-)
  14. One of the best movies I have ever seen. Every boy should watch this movie.
  15. One long route rider came past me and begged me for some water. He looked stuffed, even though he is built like a racing snake.
  16. Aussies don't care about rugby union. Only us Saffas and the Kiwis do. http://www.newshub.co.nz/home/sport/2017/03/rugby-union-popularity-rates-plummeting-at-alarming-rates-in-australia.html
  17. OK, so I rode. I will describe my 10PM Friday night before the race bike mechanic adventure later in another thread. That was one tough 25km.
  18. Disaster! I am out. So I decided to sort out my son's bike before the race. The rear brake is not working well. So I tried to bleed it. After 2 hours I gave up. Seems like the master cylinder is shot. So junior, who is a racing snake, is taking my bike, and I am sitting this one out. I would have done the 25, so no real skin of my back. He could get a top 20 in the 45 if he races well. See you all at the finish line. I will be the dude with a sad face.
  19. Just not sure what I am going to do with a 6-month gym membership when I am probably 40km away from said gym.
  20. I won the Early Bird Entry Competition. Just got the e-mail.
  21. Hubbers I am looking for a she-pup. Preferable GSD, Alsation or even Border Collie. Or even a mix of those. Not really worried about her being a pure bred. Preferable 6 - 7 weeks. Rudolph is just too alone at the moment.
  22. BTW, kudos goes to Brendon, walking all the way up to the tech zone with his baby taking a ride on his shoulders, to deliver a Pure Savage kit while my son was riding his race. Gives a whole new meaning to delivery by hand.
  23. Philip My son rode much better today, and felt much stronger already in the 2nd lap, where he usually feels stronger on the 4th lap. He says he can definitely feel the warm up worked. He usually feels his lungs burning in the 1st and 2nd lap, and this did not happen today. He now says he needs to work on his legs more so they can catch up with his core. He had a good fight with his friend and main rival. They were neck and neck until the 3rd lap when his friend had a fall, and after that was not able to reel in my son. Thanks so much for the time you put in with him yesterday.
  24. From what I have seen of you, there is no way you are getting lapped. Thanks for the ride and instruction with the boys.
  25. My son says the rock garden next to the gap jump is not that much slower, and that the risk of a crash on the gap jump was too high for it to be worth while taking it. But that was last year. Let's see on Friday afternoon. Philip, we are hopefully still on for a chat.
