  1. Im by no means a fanboy, but Nino is impressive to watch, his dominance by ni means makes the racing boring. Pidcock put in a really impressive race, and had some bad luck in the trees, twice, and Sam Gaze was also looking impressive till he crashed out, but that’s racing. Serrano was impressive, but just didn’t have what it took to keep up with Nino at the finish. Nino is the 10x world champ because he dominates in terms of fitness, technical riding ability and tactics/strategy. I think he is allowed to be a little bit full of it.
  2. Yeah, but apparently we should have been hoping for some one else to win, it’s what the cool kids are doing…
  3. I don’t want to sound combative, but why? This kind of logic is always weird for me. I can understand getting behind a rider like Alan due to national pride, but beyond that, why would you wish for anyone other than the best rider on the day taking the rainbow stripes? Nino put in one hell of a show today, and beat the best of the rest with some proper style. Why wish someone else won?
  4. Okay, will give this a skip then, and rather look for a used go pro 6 or up
  5. I have got a hero 8, and a bunch of mounting hardware. Had it for a few years and never really used it, but now starting to experiment with video editing as a hobby, and want to start filming multiple angles. does anyone have any experience with the knock off go pros available on takealot? I am not a pro, and not planning to make any money from my videos, so shelling out R10k on another new go- pro is not gonna happen. But just how bad are these R1000.00 knock off? something like this: https://www.takealot.com/volkano-extreme-series-4k-action-camera/PLID55054903 If you have a knock off which one and would you recommend it?
  6. Yep,with better commentary too.
  7. I wouldn’t bother trying to bend it. Would cut the tip off with a hacksaw, file it smooth and keep riding with the stubby lever while waiting for a new one. Replacement parts are available
  8. I get that everyone loves supporting local, and it’s kinda cool that titan racing has a presence on the forum, but is the endless plugging of titan by fanboys on every “which new bike” thread really necessary? I’m beginning to wonder if some members aren’t somehow incentivised by titan. No way any new bike at R12k is going to work for a 150kg rider. Wheels will collapse. Brakes will be very entry level. Probably a 30mm fork at best, and way too flimsy. Be realistic. A “cheap” Titan is not the answer to every question. I second the idea of looking at a fatbike. Will be well suited to the extra weight, and like you said, he lives in De Hoop, which is a pretty sandy place. I find it a drag (pun intended) to ride there with all the sand. Perfect for a fat bike.
  9. Is anyone able to watch channel 950 on DSTV. We have premium but it says not available on your package. Only working on the app, with some pathetic commentary. going to stream red bull tv from my laptop to the TV for the mens. I want Warner on commentary…. showing re runs of the trail seeker series highlights on 206 but can’t do proper coverage of the world champs where we actually have primo athletes taking part. Pathetic DSTV
  10. Can’t find the DHI on super sport. Definitely not showing on 206. Will check the app now.
  11. Watching on le’equip now but would have liked to find a stream with English commentary, or dutch….
  12. Am I being a retard, or is super sport not broadcasting the short course not the downhill? Guess I'm gonna be watching on my iPad now then with Red Bull tv. Need to get a VPN set up before 5 windscribe set up. But which country to use to get red bull feed to work? Stays geoblocked if I choose US or UK server
  13. Full bike or just a frame? I have sent you a pm for more details. Definitely interested
  14. No sure why, but when I selected DJ bikes in the classifieds it said zero results, but I see them now. Will browse quickly and have a look at that frame you posted from Chain Reaction also. I'm going to London in three weeks, so I could get it shipped for free also....
  15. I'm looking for a grown up BMX, but the classifieds on here have nothing, and I don't think I have ever seen one for sale in any bike shop I have ever been in. Where would one go if you wanted to buy a DJ bike locally? Alternatively, if I wanted to build one, what frames would work? Dropouts would obviously be an issue on most mountain bikes meant for rear deraliuers, but I guess a chain tensioner would work to convert to SS. So could I basically get any small 26inch hardtail frame, and fit a sturdy 100mm fork to it and slam the seat, or are they generally not sturdy enough in the BB and head tube areas? Are there any frames more suited to this kind of conversion? Can you play around with the stack height enough to get the geo right on a frame originally meant for XC? Then forks, which older 26inch forks are better suited? Do the airforks stand up to the abuse? I mean you would be running them pretty close to max PSI all the time, and taking some big hits into berms or up the face of a jump? Are there coil conversion kits for the older 26 inch REBA etc 100mm forks? Or should I look at a newer 27.5 fork and just run it with the 26 wheels?
  16. Etihad offers 40kg total weight with no restriction on number of items. So consider that, but except a really long travel time to get to Toronto via the middle east.
  17. You can forget about getting two bikes in under 23kg. My trail bike with sealant in the tires and pedals fitted is 13.4 kg. By the time I have boxed it, with helmet and toolbag also in the box, the whole lot normally comes to about 18kg. The airline will also count each bike box as a single piece of luggage regardless of cost, so you would need to book at least one extra bag in order to take two bikes and luggage. Are you going for holiday or moving there? If holiday, forget about the courrier option. The bikes must travel with you. If you Courier them, they will be treated as an import and you will be charged duties. If you are emigrating you might be able to look at the courrier option, but speak to your visa consultant about that, as your duty free allowance differs from country to country, and dependent on what visa you have.
  18. This brings that crash in lenzerheide into a whole other light. *edited: mixed up my Lenzerhied and Leogang
  19. And having ridden on more than one multi day stage race before where he was also taking part, I'm pretty sure Greg would be competitive in XC as well if he put his mind to it.
  20. Unfortunately, I realised too late that I cant edit the poll. once its set up, its fixed, unfrotuantely.
  21. Are you suggesting he should be on the list? LOL Unfortunately, It seems polls cannot be edited. So regardless of votes, no new names can be added to the poll. So it will now forever remain a list of my 10 recomendations for GOAT….Sorrt guys. I like how much love Greg is getting, but this was expected, but I must say im surprised by the lack of love many of the other names are getting. Guess that proves how “out of touch” my list of 10 was. I really expected Hans Rey to get some more votes, and im surprised there arent more “ballies” voting for Tomac and the like.
  22. So one “seconding” for Semunuk
  23. Can I consider that the first “seconding” for Cristoph Sauser? Like I said in the original post, the initial ten names where my pick in no particular order, and I tried to balance it across eras and disciplines, but I will be happy to add sauser, if the initial nomination gets two additional votes
  24. Are these nominations? If so, please give a brief description as to why they should be added?
  25. Will gladly add Joe Breeze, as long as you get two people to second his nomination Well I'm sure he would have been a great XC and marathon racer, had he chose that discipline over Road, I do not feel that Lance is or has ever been considered a mountain biker. So regardless of the controversy surrounding his doping scandal, I will not accept this nomination, as Lance is not a MTB legend.
