  1. I know this is an old thread, but I am to lazy to start a new one. Anyone know who I can trust to bleed my SRAM brakes (mtb), on the East Rand ? Don't want brake fluid damage al over the bike. It is the only bike I have with SRAM brakes and it does not make sense to buy the kit. (Level ULT with Bleeding Edge calipers)
  2. This was started in the Fraud Alert section. No use to anyone if nobody knows who we are warned about as potentially doing fraudulent deals..😁
  3. This might not be a popular opinion on here, but I must say, I enjoy my DSTV. 1) The wife (and I) enjoys some of the series. 2) Enough cycling/motorsport/UFC/tennis to keep me busy for a long time. If it is not showing, I go ride my bike and catch the highlights later. 3) DSTV Now available to any of the kids not staying with us. (only 1 at a time, but still) 4) I hate struggling. To go and find a different channel/VPN every time we get geo blocked or whatever, is just not for me. I guess each to their own, but definitely DSTV for me.
  4. I am sure the Trail caters foe e-bikes ? Is it not advertised as the e-bike event ?
  5. Need a little bit of advise. What is the longest loop one can do now at Taroko, and what sort of elevation would that loop have ? Have not been there for a while. Website does not help much with this. I guess they are open tomorrow ?
  6. What would final cost on this be when it is finally in your hands ?
  7. Two of my favorite racers in one photo. If MvdP is going to loose, I do not mind it being to MP.
  8. Like Dave said. Many threads on this. I have done it. Nice little project. Bike is now on the trainer full time. For me, one key question. If you are happy with mechanical disc brakes, go for it. If you want hydraulic disc brakes, forget it. Buy a proper gravel bike if you want/need one.
  9. I think for R8,000 that is not a bad bike at all. Maybe spend the R4,000 "saving" and add about another R3,000 over the next 12 months to upgrade it a little (wheelset), and I think you will have a very nice bike that will give you a lot of happy km's.
  10. I know the guys at @TVS Cycles used to do rentals. Thomas, maybe you can assist ?
  11. Some advise needed. Looking for a decent quality DS for my son, but on a very tight budget. Around R13k Been looking at the Titan Cypher Sport 120 for a while now. I see some second hand deals that does not look to bad. Would still have frame warranty. We are doing B&B 2 day together in June. Would this be a good bike, or should I look for something else ?
  12. You will get some good advise here. You also seem to have this thing reasonably under control.😁 Let him have fun, but teach him the correct way. And this is where I want to add a comment. It seems to me that something these youngsters are never taught is how to navigate traffic. At some point (around 14-19 years of age), they are going to do 20 or 40km events, where there will also be longer distance riders in front of them. Coaches never teach them how to handle this. Most social (40 or 70km riders) knows they are coming and want to get out the way, but they need to be clear on what they are doing. I have seen to many accidents and complaining parents after the event.
  13. I have used Rapide saddles in the past. Still have one on my trainer. Used the 135mm one. Very comfortable saddle, and even works well for me on longer rides. However, what I did find was that they are a little bit flexible, and I kept on finding myself having to shift back as I was sliding forward on the saddle due to the flex in the middle of the saddle. Other than that really enjoyed it. Good fit for me.
