  1. ... And you my friend , have not done DH I have riden a 29er and it is too bulky for me. Takes some fun out of the ride compaired to the 26". Having said that is was more comfortable... So... Yes... I can voice from experiance...
  2. the wheels spins at an unnoticeable different in speed between the 29&26" when you ride it. Of course you can measure it if you want. But, if you spin a 20" wheel at 20km/h and swivel it at the axel. It is easy enough. If you take a 26" wheel, spin it at 20km/h. You struggle a bit. Do the same with a 29"... even more on an effect. All at the same speed.
  3. what do you pay for a KCNC raiser OS?
  4. dude... Top carbon bars are notmuch lighter than the ali equivilant... And if you are feeling fibrations on a trail bike... Drop your fork pressure and stay off on the road and ride it on the dirt... Plus... What are you worried about 20grams on a trail bike... Loon2008-11-11 00:32:14
  5. Note taken Thuggie. Maybe you should paitent it before the next oke makes a success of it
  6. exactly.... I think
  7. kiwi... It is not the weights of the wheel... it is the gyro effect it creates... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyroscope
  8. Sure they do. Poors road bikes dont have 4" travel front and rear... That is why they are converting to MTB's And in what obscure way is this connected to carbon bars? LOL... It is related to the rest of my origional post... That a carbon MTB riser bar offers no real benifit so he should rather spend the save R1000 on something else and get a ali raiser
  9. TNT1... That Cor-oke ust wanted to get his fix for the day. We can only hope he does not come and infest the thread again
  10. I think that a 29er DH bike would be a bit of a barge. The bike will have less agility because of the larger gyro effect the wheel will give the bike. So the fast switch backs will be more PT for the rider to turn the wheel. And at the speed that these guys and girls haul, will the amount of travel the bikes have. I am not sure how much of an advantage a 29? wheels will have over a 26?. I mean. Look at the XC scene, and even marathons. The 29? wheels is still just a handful of singled out riders. It?s a theory of commuting and week end riders. But I think it will have a long way to go to prove a really remarkable difference in DH and XC. <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Marathon riders however would benefit from this size as long as there is not too much technical stints

  12. I really dont see the point of carbon bars when you have a suspension fork... any carbon on a dual I would think is useless... Road bikes benifit from carbon, and MAYBE hardtails...
  13. the amount ot pressure a DH wheel takes... I think the 29inch wheels will simply fold under the pressure. The same as why 4x4's and drag cars dont use 22inch spinners and crap like that... they use small 13"-14" rims. Same concept applies to DH
  14. raod bikes are cheaper than MTB. There are just a gazzilion more road bike veriations to choose from and more stuff you can add. look at a 2nd hand bike for arount 4k. you will find something decent for that range and wont have to upgrade very soon.
  15. ya... by getting a road bike, you not ony limited to al-boring, but you will also have to invest in a razor... rather if you cam. Save a bit longer and invest in a bit more expensive 2nd hand MTB... my 2cents
  16. Im sure your spez will be happy to hear that... It may even forgive you
  17. En as dit nie werk nie' date=' met die vuis of headbutt ! [/quote'] Vernon must have been starting the boeing because this oke decided to got MTB'ing... Thank goodness for Vernon
