They seem to have decided to open the permit office over weekends for application and collection for an unknown period. They've been open the last 2 weekends at least - on Saturdays between 11 and 3pm. You can call them on this number to check if they're open before heading out. 021 550 5716.

The side entrance was blocked off when we went this weekend, used the main gate. Don't know if it's permanent or not.

1. Kids don't need and can't get a permit. They just need to be with an adult who has one. 2. Correct, you need to be in person for collection because they take a selfie with you before handing it over.

She couldn't because she only had a copy of my ID, but if she'd had my actual ID and a photo it would've been fine.

My wife just went with the kids to get the permit. She said the lady says it's been busy - lots of applications. Once you apply it should be ready in 1-2 days. If you send someone, they need your actual ID and a photo of you. Kids don't need a permit as long as they're with an adult.

Surely a noob shouldn't be able to ride a black trail? And I can tell you for certain that anyone can ride the rhino.

Isnt the segment "short enduro to jump" above supertubes also a blue? and thats got a rock garden too... whats the difference? That jump is also bigger than either of the 2 on rhino.

It's important to be realistic - that's why it gets raised so often. Why say it's black and scare off people? It's literally completely ridable by a novice. So why call it black? If you rate it more realistically, maybe more people will ride it and maybe one day they'll try one of them gap things...

No point testing fate, safety first.

Thoughts on the new Black Rhino trail at Conters? Definitely shouldn't be rated black - it's about as techy as Cobra is. Really good fun though, good flow linking up with the bottom section.
