  2. Just bought a R200 energizer headlamp from Makro. Bloody impressed with the light it throws.

    so true

Yip, totally agree with that one.
  5. Yes, I do stretch things. I ride pretty hard but spend a lot of time on my bikes. I ride Heyes 9 brakes with Avid mechanical rotors.
  6. Where are you working HolyR? Have struggled to find review regarding the Avalanche range.
  7. They were both bent! Have had the same rotors for 4 years and they are holding out. This includes a season of downhill racing in the states.
  8. I run cycling safari tours and more and more kids want to join the adults. The bikes will be used often but will be very well maintained. My crew and I service all bikes weekly.
  9. Thanks Rookie
  10. Where is Somomons?in Pretoria??
  11. You are right mampar. Downloaded the manuals and spent yesterday trying to convert my shocks from a Freeride feel to a more XC feel. Went for a test ride today and it seems that I did just fine! Few tweaks to the rebound adjustment but feels like a whole new bike.
  12. Top five pics at the below URL just sum up this afternoon's cycle. http://letsgocycling.co.za/gallery/main.php
  13. Wow, you gonna open a can of worms with this post.
  14. There was a 'burnt brown residue' on the rotors after heating and cooling. Cleaned it off with some meths. Seem just fine. Going on a nice long ride now, just waiting for my cycling buddy.
  15. Cyclist who behave like idiots on the road are fair-game for a paintball attack.
  16. Thanks hubbers. The pot and stove trick worked a treat. Got both rotors straight.
  17. Soup is heating up nicely, will keep you posted.
  18. I bent both rotors doing the Entabeni Big5 race. Not sure how I bent them, might have been rocks bouncing up. Gonna put the hammer away and try the stove trick. Thanks a million for good advice. "If you can't fix it with a hammer then it is an electrical problem!"
  19. Please tell me that there is a way to straighten brake rotors. I am really struggling to get my rotors straight.
  20. I have to buy ten bikes so price is pretty important. The terrain that will be cycled is pretty flat and easy. Bikes should not take to much of a pounding. Then again, kids can be pretty hard on a bike!
  21. Thanks. Looks like a pretty good bike. What did it cost in SA?
  22. Need to upgrade my fleet of kids bikes to suit children aged 8-12 years old. All my adult bikes are Silverback's but I have had pretty sh*tty support from Silverback . Any?suggestions?
  23. Logwood is a world class bike park. They have really done a fantastic job of it. I often use the park to do technical training for my high school cyclists. Thumbs up for logwood.
  24. Need to adjust my shocks again. Who is the shock specialist in Gauteng? My mechanic in the States used to have this awesome bit of software that helped configure the shocks according to make, model, riding style and weight. Anybody out here have this software?
