  1. JB, I just finished reconditioning a 505 hub that was sold to me, I believe 2007/2008 versions and had to use a 14 spanner on the rear hub. This was a new one for me. And if I look at the poor condition of the wheel I believe the cones have been replaced at least once.
  2. are you OK? let us know how you are doing. Sorry to hear about the bike. It looked really great.
  3. my wife gave better advice than you lot, and she said "stay in bed- problem solved." I have tried to find the weights, but to no avail, have been told that the Raleigh is really light.
  4. I am looking at two frames, size is about the same, give or take 5mm. The one is a 2008 Merida Road Lite 905 (race) and the other is a 2006 RC 8000. Both going for R2000(SAR) What are your opinions, which is better value for money and which is the better frame? Joe
  5. btw, your website is an amazing example of minimalism, I hope that was the school you were going for.
  6. that is all reality is, "terms we can deal with", that is why i love faith, it forces me to think outside the box, and trust the truths that others have found to be good, without having to prove them for myself. thanks for the mental stimulation Mr Plod TheRev2008-05-10 05:37:40
  7. Mr Plod, quantum physics has been give the credit for many things that it has allegedly helped develop, so was the elliptical orbit of electrons, or the wave nature of light. Sometimes it takes us a while to realise that the earth is not flat, and that there is no cat in the tree we have been barking up(just like Bohr did), 'cause Schroedinger put the bloody thing in his box! BTW - giving credit where not due, Noddy was accused of lowering moral standards in the UK a few years back, remember him and Big Ears live together. Not everything is as it seems. 8. Bruce, I see that your life's goal is then the same as Socrates. I don't believe Aryanism is arrogant as a definition, it's erroneous. It is more a religion, if one could use that term for them, than it is a philosophy. Based on misunderstood and wrong logic they have created a whole way of life. Their arrogance stems from their megalothymia. (man I'm loving this big word string)
  9. " Stating that the existence of something is predicated by your comprehension of it, is with all due respect extremely arrogant." Bruce, it's not arrogant it's a school of philosophy. Empiricism might be naive but just like quantum science, it's valid, no matter how useless.
  10. Icycling, DoHA did me one better with my son's passport. We waited 4 months for one, nothing! Went there and made a stink, so the gentleman took out a new blank passport pasted my son's picture into it, stamped it and handed it to me. Time taken 3 minutes because he could not find the stamp. This forum has been great to read, Saffa, let us know what you have decided, it would be nice to know which way the opinions leant you.
  11. Mudda, you think Oz is fast. Got my US carry permit (for handguns) in 5 days, and I was not even US citizen.
  12. saffa, don't know how religions you are or how NB it is to you. Indiana is part of what they call the Lutheran belt. The people take faith seriously, yes there are exceptions, but they majority are caring passionate Christians. I have only seen glimpses of this in SA. Schools are often attached to churches and so no issues with praying in schools, and they are not private, so they are affordable.
  13. hr, Clinton is the lesser of two evils. And last news i checked the count was not final for Indiana yet, but yea Clinton should get it.
  14. Holy Roller, I thought the same thing, breakfast in bed. But laws prevent you from shooting deer so close to your house or a road. The biggest danger on the roads in Indiana is not pedestrians or taxis but deer. They are not very clever.
  15. Saffa, do you know what it is like waking up to heavy breathing at your bedroom window, and finding that it is a group of white tail deer that are grazing outside your window? Or to go ice skating down the local river with your rifle on your back hunting ducks. Or riding your mountain bike for 50 miles of single track and not seeing a person or climbing over a fence, and you are on the edge of town? Go and try it and if you come back you can tell us about the other side. I loved it.
