  1. Looking for a dietician (as per above area) with interest/expereince in cycling. I've tried some general dieticians/sport dieticians, but unfortunately without (relative) success.
  2. Looking forward! Where/when can we sign up - and can you recommend affordable accomodation?
  3. Thanks all! Really exited - trained hard, but one still feels apprehensive...
  4. I am doing my very first Hell and Back next weekend. In fact the first multiday I am doing - mainly due to the cost of the stuff! Any advice for first timer? What to pack - what I'll need? How to approach the route etc? Any input would be appreciated!
  5. I recently purchased a bike secondhand which came with TUBELESS tyres. (No we're not gonna start that argument...) Point is I want to ad some Stan's, but having always used tubes I'm unclear how to ad the product to Presta vales (would have been easy enough on Presta ) and Tubeless. Some help here please Hubbers?
  6. I develop bad pins and needles in my hands when riding to the point where I struggle to change gear and break. Bar ends is the only thing that helps (own 8 pairs of gloves already... ) as I can move and change the pressure points, by changing my grip onto the bar ends - I'm a HUGE must have!
  7. Twenty months ago I weighed 165kg... Today I weigh 95kg and still loosing - goal is 79, so count me in! I'm new to this site...what do I do??
  8. I love this ride! Suppose it helps that I grew up on one of the farms (some of my family - the rich ones ) still farm their. Spend a bit behind the particular scool's desks Great ride and not technical - but tuffif you're like me not VERY fit/strong. If you're unclear of the directions (to the start) you're welcome to meet up with us and follow. We're meeting at The Engen One Stop on the N1 One North bound (prior to Stellenbosch t/o). Departing at 06:15 - max 90 minute drive.
  9. I recently bought a 29er (secondhand) (in addition to my 26" Schwinn) and I am EXTREMELY happy! Absolutely love it - but as you said HT. That said though, I prefer HT on my 26" as well - although I must admit that Newlands Forest had me wishing for dual suspension on MANY occasions . One thing I must say, is that of all the 29ers Ive tried I only liked the Gary Fishers. I reckon where the other brands I've tried basically applied their 26" design and tech to bigger wheels - GF designed it from the ground up as a 29er. Yes there are negatives, but on the whole I am VERY happy. Ive ridden the new Gary Fisher/Trek collaboration and Trek have not managed to screw it up. They're great! Just cant say (for me personally) that I liked the way the GT, Anthem/Giant etc handles.
