thanks DJ84. He has a old Gary Fisher - not even sure of model. 26" with v brakes... Any upgrades I can make will be great - be it wheels, frame, shifters etc.

My maids son is 15, and is passionate about cycling. I introduced him to the sport last year, and I have given him a old MTB, bought him some shoes, a helmet, cycling kit, gloves, glasses etc.... HIs bike is a very old and heavy and I want to try build something up for him, with old parts and things people have lying around and are wiling to part with for a small price .....or for free... If you have any bits and pieces lying around, it would go along way to make this lads dreams come true... We are doing the 94.7 on Sunday on a tandem together. He is SO excited! He did it last year on his old MTB is about 3.40. Any help will be appreciated. I live in Parkmore and can come anywhere in the Gauteng'ish area. Thanks PS: I took him to critical mass last month.... and his eyes almost popped out!!!

I dont recomment the one in this pic. I have used a trailer with one. the tyre rub and on my lat trip, it actually wore right though the side wall. PLUS the bikes are not that steady on the above setup.

Yip, my rack from Mark is on route. It s new product he has developed in which the bike wheels stay on - much like the Thule trailer system. He can custome make stuff for you if needed. Good guy too....

Will be there from 29 Dec to 10 Jan....Keen as mustard for some MTB outings ...

DONT let it dry. will heal much faster is it remains covered and "wet'. Chemists/Drs have a large spongy plaster type thing. U put it on and leave it for 5 days..... Its inpregnated with some meds etc.... After a few days it looks and smells bleak, but when u take it off... VOILA! I had a roasty I let dru on my ankle, it formed a scab and I had to go to the Drs rooms to have it sorted out for 8 weeks.

where/who has the best and widest slection of winter gear. All the shops I have been to have limited range. Online shops have some good deals but then sizing is difficult. any ideas guys?

Just got a Scale Pro 29. Comes in at 10.8 with pedals, slime, cages etc. What upgrades could be made to get sub 10?
