  1. Through a friend who has an account. How much would a full pair set you back? Might be worth sending a few sets over!
  2. Hope hoops are expesive for you guys In england, I pay £240 for both wheels, not just the rears!!!
  3. I'm looking forward to doing this next year.
  4. Right so I've ordered the frame. It's Nicolai Argon CC 29er with rack mounts. I will weigh 110kg when I takle the race in January. I want suggestions on how to spec the bike, strong, light and tough. No budget as such so spec away, I wil need two set of wheels though, one for the road and one off road so no factory wheel sets, and remember it's got to cover 12000km through africa. I do have a pretty good idea of the spec I shall use, though just want others suggestions. And I'm a shimano man....
  5. Thats good. My goal is 114kg by the 5th of August, which is my birthday. If my calculations are correct, then I should be about 15% body fat when I get there, however we all know how that can change, being 194cm tall and having shoulders 66cm wide, I doubt I'll ever be below 100kg, though that may change after the tour d'afrique. My training goals so far. Aug 6th-7th 24 hour endurance race in a team of four, then Aug the 20th, another 6 hour endurance race solo. Sept 13th, A half marathon running October the 1st, 110 mile day ride. January 14th, 2012, Tour d'afrique. To say I'm a bit scared would be an understatement.
  6. Give yourself a pat on the back
  7. unfortunatly, as I have found there is no easy way. I find I loose most when I swim. But even going for a walk is better then nothing and does not feel like exercise. As I sadi, there is no easy way of loosing weight, I know I spent 4 or 5 years trying all the easy ways. Now I limit myself to roughly 1600-1800 calories a day, and try to exercise for an hour a day but it does get you down no matter what people say. Set yourself small goals to try and reach, I generally set myself targets. I went skiing at christmas met a girl, and then decided I was going to really try and loose weight for when I see her again in October. I want to loose 11stone between christmas and then. However, that was way too daunting so I set myself smaller goals, for example, I went skiing 3 months later and between skiing trips I wanted to loose 5 stone. The day before I went skiing for the second time, I jumped on the scales and I hd reached my target You can see the diference here http://howtoloose11st.blogspot.com/2011/04/spot-difference.html it really is massive. Now I only have another 5 1/2 stone to go in 6 months
  8. It really is as simple, to lose weight calories in must be less then the calories burnt, if you consume more calories then you burn you will gain weight. So you can do loads of exercise, but eat to much and you will still put on weight, or you can eat a small amount and do no exercise and lose weight. It's finding a happy balance that you can maintain.
  9. That's awesome. How much more to go, there can not be much left of you. I'm down to 146.4kg today, by body fat percentage has dropped from 44% to 33.5%.
  10. Your body gets used to your exercise and eating levels and you hit a wall. Try changing things up, doing different types of exercise or cut out certain things in your diet. Should help you get over the block.
  11. It's easy if you don't keep an eye on it how easy it is too put it back on, also I wouldn't get too worried if you have the odd week where you put on a couple of kg. It will be mostly water and will soon be lost again. I went skiing last week and burning almost 3000 calories a day on top of my regular allowance. I didn't eat more then usual except for fruit salad for dessert, and a main meal for lunch instead of soup, however I put on 4 kg from my previous weeks weigh in. However 4 days later and 3 kg has disappeared so, don't get too hung up over it.
  12. No I've not. They used to have issues with the freehub but they have been redesigned and so far no issues and I have 3 pairs

  15. Well, I'm new here, however over the last year I have being trying to loose weight. In jan 2012 I'm doing the Tour D'Afrique and want to be fighting fit. When I started I was around 189kg, but since september I've lost 40kg, and now currently sitting around 148kg. I have a blog which I update weekly. To get to 15% body fat, I need to get down to around 114kg so only 33kg eft. My target time is when I come to South Africa in October. http://howtoloose11st.blogspot.com/ Well done to everyone
