HI Rookie Thx for the specs. The biggest revelation for me was having a fork that you can adjust to your riding style and weight. My Scott Scale 40 with the Fox on has given me so much. I I must say service at Fox is great. I know you are going to have to pay a little more going that way but well worth it. Other components even SLX will be an upgrade from the LX with new technology. Doing one day events with the distance you have specified having a light bike will make riding easier but not the end of the world focus and Sram X9 or Shimano XT components (Have had people complain about Sram's X7) Enjoy looking around.
