  1. Dudes and dudesses - that's really old news ... they've already broken up for like a month now!!!
  2. Nick name or 'real' name ... Gavin R... We're both right - what's in it for us ...
  3. You feeling troll'ish today? Some guys write the most odd stuff to get to their 50 posts!! Dude ... please go play with your toy(s) somewhere else ...
  4. Well ... they better drop Iljo Keisse before the finish as he's Belgium's No. 1 track rider - currently one of the best in the world ...
  5. The race comm (GO and Satan) floats up next to them and show them a yellow card ? One of the race comms (Satan) gets a little aggressive (shouting abuse and hoots) as the sub keeps on crossing the white line (for at least 30 secs) and one of the sub drivers kicks their boat? Sernoche1 (also in the boat) meanwhile recognises one of our National ladies drivers in the sub on the right and again he shouts how useless they are ? The race comm slams on breaks and Sernoche1 flies out of the boat and now looks like Barend (hope you?re recovering well my friend) ? The race comm accosted both the terrorists and Sernoche1 bravely (Big H terms) to the police and hospital, respectively ? Flemish Lion2008-02-28 07:21:01
  6. Hey Mud Dee ... I'm color blind ... are you talking about the one more to the left in the pic?
  7. The front sub has about 2 sub lenghts advantage over no.2 - this should be a close finsih!! Flemish Lion2008-02-28 05:20:46

  9. http://www.iljokeisse.be/imgs/Iljojumping.jpg Iljo Keisee - Belgium's No. 1 track cyclist at the moment - will use this race to prep for the track world champs in Manchester... better drop this guy before a sprint finish!!
  10. No ... maybe sernoche1 just had a bad hair day (I know second one ...) or got beaten up by his little brother or got caught in the thunderstorm this am or is frustrated about/with something/someone or ... and takes it out on the SA team cyclists ... He's not making himself popular and won't be taken seriously anymore ... isn't that a good enough punishment by itself? Flemish Lion2008-02-26 05:27:56
  11. Strong team ... but Botero, Hamilton and Sevilla are still under investigation and thus not welcome in Milan sanremo (Italy).
  12. I'm not sure here in SA, but e.g. in Belgium a pedestrian, cyclist ? are considered as ?weak? road users and are often in their ?right?. My brothers brakes on his bike once failed (in Belgium) and he flew into a car window as he was coming from a little side street and the poor lady was responsible ? silly but true! The law protects the ?weaker? road users ?<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  13. Again ... please don't state something other people didn't say ... as before, my opinion is that you can skip a red robot when its safe for yourself and others to do so (using common sense). I also said that if you get hit by a car or fined it's well deserved (as you probably didn't use common sense to evaluate the situation). I've gathered that many don't agree and I appreciate their opinions - I don't change their statements! It's a really annoying habit of yours ... And I'm not moaning - its my observation that nothing is changing - I educate taxi- and other drivers every morning ... but they just don't seem to care ...
  14. Bold or stupid ... I tuned a taxi driver a few months ago and he waved an axe at me in response ... we are powerless in such a situation. Big H must have come accross the friendliest taxi driver in Gauteng ... "Are you going to be the only one with common sense who will tell us which laws are ok to break, and which laws are not ok?" The above is not my intention ... who am I to say whats right or wrong ... evaluate the situation when you approach a RED traffic light (topic), don't bring other people or yourself in any danger by using your common sense! I'm sure we're all on the same page here ... but the traffic situation in Gauteng (as you know) is many times worse than anywhere else in SA ... and we are clearly more frustrated as nothing seems to change ...Flemish Lion2008-02-22 03:25:11
  15. Some people seem to lack a brain on this hub and make statements for other people (eventhough those people never made these statements) ... it's an opinion ... take it / leave it / comment on it ... don't CHANGE it!! As if NOT skipping a RED traffic light 'safely' is gonna turn this world into a better place! SA has more to worry about cyclist skipping RED traffic lights! If you are dumb enough to bring yourself or other people in danger while skipping a RED traffic light you deserve to get hit by a car or being fined ... just use your common sense ... oh forgot ... many here are lacking that!
  16. If it ever feels like you HAVE to ride the bike for exposure and you're getting a bit sick of it ... I'll take over from you onetime! Awesome looking bike Mike ... will get you a few more A-group wins I'm sure ...
  17. Mango is charging R150 each way - but they posted that on their website long before ... so I decided to pay R150 extra for bike to go with a professional transport company close to where I stay ...
  18. If the above is true ... why can't 'they' give me a time/placing for the Emperors Palace classic as I lost my chip during the elite race! I e-mailed Championchip and CGC to check if they've recorded my finishing time. No answer from CGC so long and Championchip said: " Sorry to hear about your bad luck. No, the race officials just write down the names for the prizes and the rest is chip timing." Who am I supposed to contact? Please provide contact details ...
  19. They only write down time and numbers of the elite ladies/men to sort out prizes. I actually lost my timing chip during the emperors race and got a DNF status - really weird cos my chip was on a plastic bike mount on my hub at the start, even the plastic was gone ... they DID NOT take my number/time down when I finished I agree it's all about planning - but only noticed on Thursday eve ... and it was impossible to get one on Friday! We learn as we grow older ... Flemish Lion2008-02-12 01:30:57
  20. My fianc? uses them in the elites ? the spokes look very thin ? so not sure how they would cope above a certain weight category, but I?m sure you can check the web for that. Else great wheels at an unbeatable prize ? if they have them in stock of course and they?re not just luring you all the way there for nothing ?
  21. Hey Witrot, <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I never got your 'real' name either and thanks again for your help! My name is Tijl and I've been prepping Jo(anna) for the ladies elites since last year. She?s been cycling for just over a year now and it?s only her third elite race, but as the results show she?s incredibly talented and not shy to work in the bunch. She still has plenty to learn and needs to get stronger if she wants to beat the top ladies (but we?ll work hard to get there) - the most important thing is that she loves racing/cycling. She was determined to race on Sunday.
  22. During the Kormorant my fianc? (Joanna) went to the Championchip VAN to buy a chip 40 min before the start of the Elite ladies group.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The guy at work said he was too busy and she should come back in 30 min. 30 min later the guy was on the phone and making a sign to Joanna to keep quite as he was in a bit of panic as things were not working properly. So 30 secs before the start Joanna interrupted him again and he gave her a timing chip and she had to rush to write down her details ? meanwhile the elite ladies and vets had already left and she had to go ever the timing mats and chase the group which she caught before Hekpoort. Why did he not give her a chip earlier? Why does championchip only have ONE guy at a race? (Winningtime always had at least TWO people present NO matter how ?small? the race)!! All this caused unnecessary stress and a waste of energy chasing the bunch ? in short it?s a REAL disgrace! So unprofessional - they should be there for us cyclists!! Luckily she managed to catch up and stay with the front elite ladies ? but unfortunately an MTN girl?s chain got stuck with 2km to go and she fell over and Joanna could not avoid her and flew over her with lots of bruises on her thigh, shoulder, back and a black eye ? We fixed her and the bike up and she managed to finish 7th in the Emperors classic on Sunday, but could barely walk after the race. I just hope Championchip will NOT under staff for any future race!
