  1. Ok, let's get this thread going now... the photo below was forwarded to me (I only take a tiny bit of responsibility for posting it)... A hubber, playing with his pet before taking it for a hot and wet bubble bath during a chilly AUGUST day.

  3. In case someone is desperate for batteries... A friend of mine recently asked me if I would be interested to be an agent for the company he works for, i.e. wholesale of batteries and chargers. But I have a full time job and don't even now how their products are priced in the market - so haven't persued it yet and further thought selling to individuals would be too much of a mission. I bought a Vanson -878 charger (R125), 8 x GP AAA (R46 per 4) - (1000Mah) and 8 x GP AA (R84 per 4) (2500Mah), both rechargeable. I don't have a clue how competitive these prices are. But they have any kind of battery or charger one can think of. E.g. I looked at the 2900Mah, but those were close to R100 per 4 I think - and for my light 2500 is enough. (details for charger see: http://vanson.manufacturer.globalsources.com/si/6008800011523/pdtl/Standard-battery/1001636723/Easy-Charger.htm) Let me know if you really need some batteries and we can perhaps make a plan...

  5. Take N3, then R25 Modderfontein, than go to 63 Lake Road Longmeadow Business Estate North extension no. 7 Edenvale. When you are at the business park, go in and turn right and follow the road - it will turn to the right and after 150m you will see Coolheat on the left... I'll pm you a map
  6. Their lifespan can also get to an abrupt STOP when you hit a huge pothole!! It will depend how often you service the hubs, if you are a funrider or racer, where you live (number of potholes per square meter)...
  7. Is there some SENSIBLE reason why they don't want to make it the GAUTENG Champs as some categories e.g. elite ladies were only 5 in CGC - one team (Toyota - Cyclelab) against the 'others' AND in Pretoria (7 started) it looked like MTN against 'others' - impossible to compete against a team in most cases... and not worthy of a race!! 8. Are you the Standard BankCyclelab (??) guy with the Flemish Lion on his seatpost? Standard Bank... NOT cyclelab!!
  9. Oh so true Bruce "never let them go" ... easier said than done!! Think I got a third in the 30-34 category ... pity about the two other guys getting away with 10k to go! I gambled on my sprint and was hoping we could real them back in... wrong gamble!
  10. Dude ... how can you dish a talented rider so quickly ... just shows how little you know about cycling ... it's a team sport! Just watch the race on Sunday and we'll chat again!!Flemish Lion2008-04-07 03:16:35
  11. What are you all on about - Boonen chased down about 60 breaks of guys chasing Devolder. Tom is a team player and is stoked that his mate Devolder won! Tom will show you all on Sunday how good he is. Quikstep has a super strong team with Steegmans and Devolder next to Tom. Tom also got back together with his old lady friend Lore for all you gossip lovers out there...
  12. Esquire, I'm sure you've also met friendly cyclists in Sunninghill ... I live on Faraday Rd and cruise around Sunninghill Estate and Gardens almost every second day ... better make sure you greet me back next time we pass each other . Oh, I slept in this am - so it wasn't me In Belgium/Holland/UK/... they often blame the bad weather for the unfriendly attitude of people. In SA it could be related to crime, eskom, politics, stress... maybe a good research topic!!
  13. I think its the dudes GF that wants to make sure he doesn't go out drinking at the pub 10 k's away tonight ... I just hope she tagged the keys!!
  14. Now that is an April Fools joke. Where have you ever seen green artwork. Kermit the from is green and he can talk. But he is no piece of art. Come visit us here at work and I'll go and show you a piece of green-ish art! And Mampara will find that particular piece of art in the toilet? Flemish Lion2008-04-01 03:29:29
  15. This is a good test to see if any criminals browse the HUB - if Ewep's bike gets stolen from that basement in President Park within the next few days/weeks ... then we'll know!

He needs to get his drivers first though ...
  17. "Topic: My baby is finished" For a moment I thought your BABY had DIED!!
  18. That's why I say focus on getting a top 1000 or top 500 or top 100 in the Agrus ... times are useless and depend on start group and weather conditions. To prove a point about start group ... a friend of mine had never ridden a road race before this years Argus ... he had some good Mtbike results and talked his way into the A group and did a 2.43 ... the group drops you off @ Chapmans and if you're fit ... you won't lose that much time to Greenpoint ... So to get a sub 3 ... improve your start group and it's a walk in the park (if weather is ok ...)
  19. ZorgusPrime ... I suggest you go and hide some easter eggs on that spot - post a pic and we'll look for the eggs ... just to get the Easter vibe going a bit ... Gelieve ni me dese post te spotten ni - dit es een ernstige saak ... anders zet ik jy in die kring van die spotters ...
  20. It?s not only on the HUB that the use of the English language is shocking ? I SA in general it?s at an alarming level ? I?ve marked quite a few exams @ university over the years and I often cannot believe what I?m reading (even from second years) ? how did these guys/girls ever get into the university in the first place? Lowering standards ? will this benefit the country in the long run!! <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Most claim English isn?t their first language ? but sadly for them it isn?t mine either! How can these people survive in the business world if they can?t communicate properly!
  21. "No calves" ... thats so so funny ... KLEIN bikes = KLEIN picture ... ROFLOL ... KLEIN JAN nope BIG JANFlemish Lion2008-03-17 06:35:03
  22. The above reminds me of an article I read not so long ago ... Sven Nijs (top Belgian cyclocrosser) stated that NO doctor certificates should be accepted by WADA ... stating if you're NOT 100% healthy you shouldn't be competing. He's says at the drug checks ... the WADA officials always look at him surprised that he never hands them a doctor certificate ... unlike 90% of the field!! Pretty suspicious!!
