  1. You guys are fast to jump to conclusions... let's wait for some more info... I can only assume he struggled with his superstar status and cocaine is then an easy way out... Oh and lock up your children next time I go cycling with any of you Hoegaarden is my favorite too...
  2. That looks great - but in the 'other' SA champ decal I would use the SA flag rather on the 'rocket' thingy...
  3. How small is the price elasticity of petrol? EXACTLY!! Petrol is a necessity good - there are very few alternative modes of transport in SA!! WAKE up, rub your eyes and ask Sasol a nice bonus for your efforts!
  4. He didn't interfere with the race and left the race with 500m to go... This "fallen angel" published his autobiography a few weeks ago - he's been through some tough times (injuries, divorces, doping, attempted suicide...) He starts racing again mid June and will ride the Belgian Championship...
  5. I'm not sure if this news ever reached you guys, but when Frank Van den Broucke was fired by unibet.com in 2006 he participated in an amateur race in Italy with a fake license, using the name Francesco Del Ponte and a photo of Tom Boonen... Broucke (in flemish means pentalon in French) - thats how he came up with the name...
  6. Hey Gary, Nice work promoting track cycling... One comment - directions to the venue would help or a map...
  7. I suggest you sing it to us... you planning a French can can
  8. What are you planning to do with that pump ? From news24.co.za: "A five-year-old Cambodian boy is recovering in hospital after his mechanic father inserted an air hose for tyres into his anus and blew him up."
  9. Admin probably thought you wanted to save some more weight, so they deleted some buttons for you... I'm missing some other buttons - hows your sewing?
  10. Next time I'm starting a BOOOOONEN is rubbish thread Don't BAD TALK my fellow countrymen/women - as BTB knows I'm a bit sensitive when it comes to that And for the record' date=' I for do not consider the pressure she is under. She is supposed to be a professional, and gets rewarded quite handsomely to perform. And besides, when it comes to tennis, the only thing I consider is the hotness rating of the player. [/quote'] Well - she clearly couldn't cope with the pressure both from tennis (No. 1)and her private life... if she retired for 'the money' she could have done so 4 years ago! I hope you're only watching the WTA BTB Me a Gautenger ... I'm a confused Belgian that studied at UCT, is working in Gauteng and is marrying a KNZ chick soon... I like to diversify my portfolio...

  12. Perhaps you guys should consider the pressure she has to deal with being number 1 in the world for the past few years. If you would read up about her a bit - you would pick up that she has had lots of private issues too. Some respect please - she is one of the best players the world of tennis has ever seen! Money... do you think top sportsmen or women compete for the bucks? Thats a very short sighted answer - pathetic really! You think that is what motivates Federer to go out and compete every day?? THINK again - or just THINK for a change!!
  13. Both Pedalcare and Cyclesure cover your bike/accessories during races/funrides. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The premium is lower for Pedalcare, but your excess will be R500, whereas with Cyclesure your premium is higher, but your excess is R250. So you'll have to estimate how often you'll crash... I'm not sure about other insurers...
  14. That's right. It surprises me you know about it! Not a surprise ... hubbers are VERY knowledgeable people
  15. Is this the best Mexico has to offer?
  16. Disculpe - no comprendo
  17. I have this CD and it is AWESOME!
  18. yeeeah' date=' right! quite an ego buster, hey [/quote'] It is a bit ... I'm sure Jo bruised many guys ego's on the Tour!! She has dropped me on hills (3x) before - and I always had a good excuse
  19. Hey Zaskar, Thanks for posting these photos! If you have a moment (one of these days or weeks), would it be possible to send me some of these photos (higher quality) of me and Jo via e-mail (tijlvdw @ gmail dot com). Also if any other hubbers have photo of us please send them as we didn't take any and have very few of us cycling together! Oh - about me getting dropped ... I got caught out on a downhill and could not get back to the group as the tandems were driving it hard up front... Jo just got deep carbon wheels and they work their magic on the downhills - with her weight she struggled to hang on to the group before - now she even passes people!! Also, she completed the whole race with an 11-23 cluster!! It was an awesome experience and we'll be back next year for sure!
  20. Flemish Lion, what dodgey people are you haning out with? Where do you get this stuff from? Just a few Germs... rumour has it they're hiding out in Stellenbosch
  21. Ok, let's get this thread going now... the photo below was forwarded to me (I only take a tiny bit of responsibility for posting it)... A hubber, playing with his pet before taking it for a hot and wet bubble bath during a chilly AUGUST day.
