  1. I'm yet to do that ride! I'm keen. Will maybe bring SlOW with me and 1 or 2 others. Looking forward to it.
  2. I do not believe you can compete at that level without doping, because so many of the people you are competing against dope. I will go as far as to say that regardless of whatever sport you play at an international level that requires intense physical exertion etc, you are severely disadvantaged if you have not had some form of performance enhancing drug/supplement. Just eating, training and resting is not enough in todays sports world. Its sad, but simple reality and will only get worse. Peoples dersire to win at all costs as well as survival in their chosen sports to obtain contracts, so as to support ones family is what's driving this. Pressures from sponsors to get into the spotlight blah blah. The list goes on. Hell guys in the corporate world are sniffing coke before a board meeting to be on their toes. Its all over. 5. I have a soloist carbon and i love it. Its the buz niss!!! I LOVE IT! I wish it was a bit lighter. Not prepared to pay for the SL. Reckon i will get a Tarmac SL2 next. You feel like superstar on this bike and people give you the respect. I used to ride a Giant TCR for my first bike and no one gave a sh%t. When i started riding my soloist everyone gave the "nod" Perception is everything! Enjoy Kent2008-12-15 12:34:34
  6. Oh and one other thing. The marshalls are getting VERY strict with the white line rule. 2 guys got disqualified in A-B. One of them runs winningtime so he has to disqualify himself.....
  7. Nope! Him and some other guy got in a break. The other guy won. Not sure who he is. Great race! It was HOT and i ran out of water..... Guys were all helping eather other out with drinks which was nice to see. Kent2008-12-07 04:50:57
  8. errr... Cause you ride a MTB????
  9. 13th with 3 punctures in the team so we lost at least 15-20 minutes..... Took forever to fix our punctures for some reason, plus the 6 strongest riders stayed with us as they wanted to finish as a full team, so we could of been right up there. Well done to all the finishers. My first DC. Really enjoyed it. Kent2008-11-23 08:41:53
  10. Fair enough! I was not aware of all the technicalities so perhaps i shouldn't of been so harsh but damn i'm chomping at the bit hear.
  11. There must be a way to upload the info to some web portal when all the people are finished. Its text based data so it will be a smallish file. Surely they can afford a 3G card..... There is no excuse for their sh&t service. Pathetic!!!Kent2008-11-23 04:53:17
  12. Anyone know when the f'ing results will be up??? Winningtime is a JOKE!!! How the hell can they keep people in suspence like this. Unbelievable
  13. Yip!
  14. The guys is a freeking machine. Majority of the guys racing are on gear so either he's got the best sh$t or he's just that much better with the same performance enhancing drugs. The guy is an animal/machine. I wish i had a tenth of his genetic potential. I hope kicks everyones ass in the coming races just because he can!!! Nowadays cycling needs a bit of spice and he can certainly can rattle a few cages. Good luck to him.
  15. Software that comes with it is not that great but we use Training Peaks WKO+. You can download it off the web which is compatible with lots of cycling computers and that is awesome software for analysis. As discussed a coach that knows what they are doing is key otherwise its just an expensive cycling accesrory. Why is Formaula 1 so obessed about data form there cars when they practice and race. Its how they improve. The same principal applies to cycling. Over time you will also get a better understanding of how to use you PM to improve your riding. I firmly believe in it and so do most of the pro's. No brainer..... Enjoy it!
  16. You've just answered why training with power is so efficient. You are able to measure your intensity with the help of your power meter. A power meter does not lie. A person can train for 2 hours at a certain or varied wattage and get a better work out than another cyclist just riding for 3-4 hours. I train with SlOW and trust me that we have improved our riding dramatically with a coach and powertap. If you choose to use it correctly then without a doubt it will help. It also motivates you to improve you power stats month on month. Power to weight ratio is key to success in cycling. I can go on for ages of the benefits training with power. Its like anything in life. Its what you do with it that counts. Train with POWER! It rocks!
  17. Speedplay are crap in my opinion. I got sold into the whole lightweight nonsene blah blah. I have a digital scale at home which can meaure very light weight. Yes the pedals themselves are ligher tham most (steel pedal equivalent) but as soon as you add the cleat system which you obviously have to use the total system is HEAVIER than most other well known steel pedal/cleats combo's. Also did not like the small surface area you push off. Got heat spots on my feet when i rode hard (intervals) or for more than 3 hours and i have the best cycling shoes you can buy. I changed to LOOK Keo carbons about 2 weeks later and haven't looked back since. This is obviously my personal choice but these get a thumbs down for me.

    Help!?

Or do you pull to the left on the downstroke?? Classic!
  19. I think he's a pretty cool guy! Didn't get his name but he helped me out when i punctured on my way home on the coast rode a few months back. Very friendly and seems to be passionate about his riding, so good on him.
  20. Those are true climbing wheels but are awesome all rounders. I have circuits and getting a set of EC70 SL for season. All their wheels are rock solid. You cant go wring and as everyone says. They look real sexy!!!
  21. On my way home now from my morning ride coming down Suikerbossie i saw a cyclist being rear ended by a bunch of f$cking idiot superbikers flying up Suikerbossie. Guys please keep as much as possible to the left side of the road to prevent these type of events happening. The cyclist does not look well as he was lying on the road and his bike is a mess. Very scary sight indeed! I'm one to blame riding near to traffic and this has given me a wake up call. I hope this guy is OK who ever he is. This is happening way to often on our roads.....
  22. Hi Guys I am looking to get an upgrade on my current bike and can get a good deal on the the above Giant. Articles that i have found on the net have good reviews and as i am keen on racing, which this bike is designed for, so it seems to be a good choice. As its not pocket change i obvioulsy dont want to go spend a tonne of cash on a bike that i know very little about, i was wondering if anyone has one and what their views on the bike is or if anyone knows someone else with one etc etc. Look forward to hearing from you. Kent
  23. This is exactly what i was looking for. Will make contact with those guys. Cheer bud!!!
  24. Thanks for the answer. I am definitely reading the manaul but i saw guys on the some forums talkng about sending each other polar profiles of certain rides so was wondering if there is maybe some kind of guru that knows all the ins and out of the CS400. I suppose all the ansers will come in time after trial and error. Cheers again.
