  1. one-upmanship. exactly that. Its a case of " oh look at me. my wallet is bigger than yours"
  2. whoever coined that phrase has no concept of simple maths... More like how the other 0.0005% live
  3. Ah, so thats what it looks like..;.
  4. hey Wayne. I havent been following that thread and I dont have time to read 60 pages. Where are you going?
  5. After a dodgy seafood potjie it was "finding Nemo"
  6. ja. all the bells and whistles. It really makes a difference. If you want to play you turn it all off. If you want a nice relaxed cruise you turn it all on. The wife is much more relaxed on the back knowing that there all these safety gizmos. You can take the bike with road tyres on wet grass and ( in enduro mode) grab a handfull of throttle and it will slide just enough to be fun but you wont lose it. Amazing
  7. This bike is so much better than I expected it to be. I was concerned that it would be a bit bland but it is so nice to ride. Off road it is unbelievable. So glad I chose it over the Triumph. I am now busy planning some nice long tours...
  8. thats your job...
  9. never tried a 2 piece. this is more my style http://api.ning.com/files/UOmNZ53Ny6CjmYQRq9ttGycuocbXnN*WCzdT7TAuBM*K*xuSTZcBHxS6VpxPvRwhEHe*Vz5qQ0tUjSTSidGAJA__/_Man_Bikini.jpg

  12. Thanks Bud. Been a lurker on Wildoogs fora while. Havent said much, though. Dont think they will get my sense of humour on that forum.
  13. absolutely. that is huge for one as inept at mechanics as I am.
  14. Couple of reasons. Firstly I intend to do some long trips / tours - Namibia, that sort of thing. I used to race enduro and have had WRs and the like and done some serious off road stuff but I am now looking for something a bit different. Farm roads, mountain passes and long rides. Also, being an accountant with mechanicophobia - I am very scared of KTMs.
  15. so - I signed my life away this morning and am now the proud owner of a GS800. I am very excited. It was a toss up between the Beamer and the Triumph, but after spending time on both , the BM is still better off road and I dont intend to see much tar on this bike. Let the game begin.....
  16. not rebuilding, but in the process of negotiating ( with SWAMBO) to get a GS800. I am looking to replace the silencer and get a few bits and bobs for it. The local BMW prices are absurd.
  17. did you buy online? if so, from where? I may be looking to buy some stuff soon and need a reliable site thanks
  18. I think my PC is broken. I keep looking at this picture, but its not moving
  19. there are always discussions about how men feel if their wives earn more than they do. personally I have no issue with it whatsoever. BUT I would have a big issue if she could wheelie better than me.

Unbelievable. considering he was sitting in 8th position after lap 1 he clawed much more that just the 4 seconds back. Lovely to see he is still a bit of a clown as well. loved the Maradonna shirt at the end.
  21. Morph - thank you. Just.... thank you
  22. so much of cool
